in 3000 b.c Brihaspathi Maharishi asked a question famously called the Brihaspathi incision - is God responsible for rebirth? or is Karma? he then elaborated to what is known as the Brihaspathi equation- All Gods are ruled by karma, but karma is ruled by no gods. so Gods and worship is a way to Morality- just one among many. The Carvaka have chosen the Gyan marg instead of the bhakti marg. ultimately all roads lead to Karma.

@Arid wrong. karma is above god. God is a human creation and there have been over 100,000 gods created by man since 8000 bc. very many have vanished. in the vedas- surya is god. Ramanayana - Surya is god and Shiva the god of Ravana, in Mahabharatha, surya and krishna are gods, in the upinishads- Surya is god, today very few worship Surya. The popular gods worshiped like Ganesha, Balaji, are not mentioned in the Vedas at all. Shridi sai baba, is now a god was not born before the late 18th century. so all gods have karma, but karma has no god.

Charvaka doesn't subscribe to either gyan or Bhakti.to them there is no any reality except this material world - and hedonistic in their moral outlook

@@krishnamanrai9490 that is very true- but they could not explain rebirth, or karma, topics that need to be addressed in any philosophical or meta-physical debate. just because you do not believe in something does not mean the thing in question does not exist. Christians till about 100 years ago believed the earth to be flat. in 3000 bc sages in India saw the shadow of the earth on the moon, and concluded that the earth was spherical. It was the Mayans who mathematically calculated weather forecast for over 1000 years into the future- something not done by any other civilization. The main point of the Charvaka movement was that rituals as proposed by the priestly class, was a total waste of time and money, which was better spent in pleasurable activities. their demise and fall was due to non-explanation of the main point in Hindu dharma, Karma and rebirth.

Please make a monologue about your thoughts\opinion\idea\POV on this topic: a religion or particular people dont eat meat because it needs killing animals and etc etc which can be considered as immortal\wrong. But now technology progesses and human create products like impossible meat or Beyond meat that tastes like meat but are plant based. Most laboratories are taking a part of meat and nurturing and growing it and so it doesn't harms or even kill any kind of animal ife. Should the non-meat eaters still be allowed to protest against meat. Will they switch to meat? This case is also analogous to the case of incest or polygamy. Incest wasn't allowed due to genetic mutation etc etc. But now should it be approved because protection & stuff like condoms exist. In future when sex-dolls get better, would a sexual relationship with them be cheating, or will it be polygamy or something else. Or the case of untouchability. in the age of soaps and detergents and disinfectants and quarantine, should people be still allowed to believe in untouchability. Should we still wash our hands after shitting even if we now use hand-shower or water jet,etc. In summary, My dilemma is: if some rules, beliefs, taboos are redundant due to progress in society or technology, should they be still followed, should they be termed illegal, where does the line exist. Your knowledge and experience exceeds far greater than mine. I just request you to give some thoughts on this dilemma and recollect more analogies to these situations and... speak about what u learned

Hi Kushal, Religion is not necessary for well educated/civilized citizens like us perhaps. In a country like India, where many poor people feel a sense of community in religious activities/gatherings, they feel equal in a temple, don't you think disrupting this social structure might lead to complete chaos in society. You are right that fear shouldn't be a motivator for morality, but when we are dealing with millions of people especially who are low-class, I think religion is necessary to maintain peace and harmony. What are your thoughts?

I grew up in a very theist, superstitious family but I didn't need education to be good. The reason was my parents rarely said "Don't do it, because God..." but they explained me why it was wrong. I didn't need god(s) to tell me what's wrong.

Religion is important coz its natural thing.. But it should not do bullsh*t claims, religion is important for social control and to drive meaning among people.. Being a nastik I don't have any problem with religion at all...
