Thank you Nadine Chamas so much for your question and for the opportunity to provide you with a biblical answer. In order to properly answer this question, we need to first qualify the question. You asked, "If God has no material form and is invisible, why do christians believe that Jesus is God?" For sure God being a spirit (John 4:24) has no material (Luke 24:39), but do true Christians believe that Christ is God? A Christian by definition is a follower of Christ. So a true Christian will follow and believe whatever Christ teaches. Christ makes very clear the truth regarding the true God when he was praying to the Father in John 17:3 ERV, "And this is eternal life: that people can know you, the only true God, and that they can know Jesus Christ, the one you sent." According to Jesus Christ himself, he made clear that the Father is the only true God. Therefore true Christians will follow him by also believing that the Father is the only true God. If one believes that Christ is God, they are not following the truth that Christ taught. This is the reason why Christ further explained in John 4:24 that God is spirit and that he is very different from God. He says in Luke 24:39, "Behold My hands and My feet, that it is I Myself. Handle Me and see, for a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see I have." Therefore true Christians do not believe that Christ is God.
