Why should we configure limits.conf for Oracle database

As in video, you have only commented out the soft limit of the nproc but the hard limt configuration is still existing... Then it should be capable of increasing the nproc for that session na....

Very nice explanation but I have a query that if you have changed the number of soft noproc of oracle user then also it should be extend because we set the number of hard noproc is 16k something, so why oracle has not extented his numbers and database has start it properly

beside question in previous comment, can you please tell if the changes we do in limits.conf are permanent and not going to be lost after reboot?
