Why Single Player Games Are ALWAYS Better Than Online Multiplayer Games

Since 2020 I've only played single player games, multi-player games are just boring now and trying to get your money at every possible opportunity and the lobbies are so hard that I can't even get 1 or 2 kills, at least single player games have an awesome story ( most of the time) and good and relaxing gameplay

The problem is we play games for fun, having a good time, laughing. But you do not get this in most of the online games today. They are just too competitive. One persons fun is depending on the other persons anger. Everything is for some ranks or skins or whatever. It's about "I AM BETTER THAN YOU". When you watch a guy playing these games, he is not smiling, he is sweating and screaming. Only online games I play is co-op games with friends. So everybody can have fun. I just play tf2 as a online shooter but it's pretty much done at this point. Competitive-tryharding-anger fueling games makes more money, so majority of the online games will be like this for the future.

I just don't understand how people can do the same 10-20 minutes of gameplay for years. I need variety so I focus on single player games.

I've preferred single-player games for quite a few years now (yes, I still hop into MP games occasionally), and it's due to a few of the factors you mentioned, along with some others. The primary reason I've shifted away from MP (mainly COD) is due to the fact that the game has turned into a slot machine due to its EOMM algorithm. The algorithm is only designed to drip feed you dopamine through calculated wins and losses to keep you playing as long as possible (like a slot machine). Being manipulated like that sucks and no one enjoys it. Other than that, single player games typically have a lot more care put into them, because developers know they can't just throw in an MTX store to recoup losses if the game sucks. Single-player games are typically designed with the player's fun in mind first and foremost, and that fun experience is what they use to engage the players. Most MP games are designed with player *engagement* in mind first and foremost, which they then use manipulative tactics to create "fun" (EOMM, FOMO game modes, limited time events/cosmetics, battle passes, hamster wheel-type things) which makes you develop some form of "need" to play the game, keeping you coming back despite not really wanting to. One of these models is sustainable, and the other is not. If I were forced to choose to only play single-player games or multiplayer games for the rest of my life, I'd choose single-player without any hesitation.

I definitely prefer single player games, if its good enough it will haunt me in the best way possible. On another note, im surprised exoprimal wasn't brought up. The game is very unique and didnt really follow many multiplayer trends yet it still pretty much failed probably due to flaws but also a measurable part was most certainly because people didn't know what it was and didn't care because it wasn't familiar. That's pretty much the opposite of why we lose interest in single player games.

1:06 this man screaming is the equivalent of how I feel in games where other players can just stomp all over me tagging and bullying me main while they spray while I actually aim my shots but because their connection is so op they just win every gun fight even tho they have a ping of 30ms and I have 10

It's the connection I don't mind multiplayer games but when u dump a whole mag in to someone and none of them register then they shoot u twice and u die like it's all about connection rather than real skill of u don't have a decent connection and note I have a fiber optic connection I have 1gb up and 1gb down and still I have all these hit reg issues I'm like the hell there's no point in playing if you LITERALLY CANT! win because that's the whole point your playing in the first place whats the point of playing the game if the way the netcode works is to only favors players with certain isp providers like you are literally playing for no reason

There are some rare cases where both delivered within one single release. “Gears of War” in its infancy was great, later it tanked. Titan Fall 2 is also a good time!

Like it's getting so bad that I honestly think players who have a much worser connection like if say client side sees it keeps not registering bullets then server says heres some wall hacks and a hit box expander because that's literally how bad the disadvantage is rn

@@stequality a lot of current action adventure games have way too many cutscenes: popularised by uncharted & last of us franchises . It’s gotten to the point, where the main interest in single player titles is the story not gameplay. Also many games tend to have long drawn out sections with brain dead puzzles or just flat out walking sections that make up most the game (hellblade for example)
