I was glad that all 4 of the original members participated in the telling of their story. Besides the fact that Woody quit not once but twice and Jazz begin to have issues with his health I don't recall either of them speaking about having any type of verbal and/or physical altercations behind the scenes with one another. I could be wrong though. Every group starts out as a group and always has 1 sometimes 2 individuals who take center stage in the fans eyes but not necessarily in there own eyes. Would The Jacksons have gotten signed without Michael singing lead? If Ralph and Bobby hadn't went solo would BBD even be a group? I've been a Druhill fan since the 90's and i very much doubt ppl cared that woody left. Ppl was going out to see sisqo. I will say that the 4 are extremely talented and i personally enjoyed what each of them brought in each song. It wasn't just sisqo. I sound contradicting myself but im not. Woody stayed playing with their emotions by leaving and coming back! I like Dru Hill as a quartet but I don't think Woody not being there was THE ONLY reason they weren't as successful as a trio. Their first and second albums were great. Honestly, I could live without Woody being in the group. He's not that strong of a (lead) singer to me. And to leave because the industry is wicked doesn't seem like the entire truth. Gospel music is still part of the industry and I'm sure there are the same type of executives whose only goal is to generate money. The people didn't stop coming because of Woody. The people stopped coming because they were over-exposing the group. A little mystery goes a long way. But when you got Sisqo showing up on shows on Nickelodeon.. that persona.. clashed with his hood persona that folks got from the music. That was back when we had no real idea how celebrities were in real life. Dru Hill had a strong hood following.. Sisqo had hood dudes dying their hair blonde behind him. But then when he started being everywhere.. and on the kids network.. and they saw he had some feminine mannerisms, they lost that baseline segment of their audience. And those are the folks that come to your shows. Overexposure.. and crossing over can kill your career. It had nothing to do with 4 part Harmony. I've never heard anybody say they stopped checking for Dru Hill because of Woody. That's just not true.
