@@kelechi_77 I mean it really matters how much money we are talking lol if monetizing my social interactions could get me and my loved ones the kind of money some of the mid-bigger podcasts make then heck yes dude lol. My parents could retire my sister could get the quality healthcare she needs, my dad could get better physical therapy. Making it big in podcasting is one of the best things that can happen to you lol. You also can still hang out with people... without monetizing it. Invest. You have intergenerational wealth. Not everyone is so privledged as to be able to say no to capitalizing on something that isn't wage slavery. and wage slavery isn't really.... "capitalizing" you're being capitalized on tbh.

I’ve sat at my round kitchen table with my phone propped in front of me in my empty apartment. As I eat my dinner I feel as though you three are sitting in the other chairs around the table. Like we are hanging out, discussing philosophy and our dying world. I pause the video from time to time to interject my own ideas, and though you don’t respond it still feels like you have heard me. I feel you nod your heads in agreement. I ask if you enjoy the meal I prepared for us all. The food sits and goes cold in my kitchen, yet you reassure me it tastes wonderful. Its as if I can reach out and touch you.

Jreg not believing the monk actually sat still through the pain is kind of infuriating to me. EDIT: Machiavelli was basically like "there are regimes that are actually good, regimes that are goodish because they're stable, and regimes that are essentially controlled chaos. That last one is bad, but I'll write a book about how to succeed in it anyway."

autism isn't just a social disorder it also includes problems with interoception and sensory issues such as sensitivities or being insensitive to sensory information. its a really multifaceted disorder that often includes intertwines with other neurodivergences and disorders like adhd and schizophrenia. adhd is also a lot more deep then you guys discussed it as and far more of a disadvantageous disorder to have than it is usually portrayed.

This was a good podcast both genuinely and in a cool & detached post-ironic sense. Maybe a bit too good, because it prompted me to pause from time to time and contemplate, and inspired me to write down some thoughts about wet socks and the utility of therapy. I had to watch it in three separate parts. Most podcasts are useful as noise to drown out racing thoughts, this one wasn't. So yeah, it was a super interesting and engaging discussion, but in this economy? I was hoping for easily consoomable content slop but ended up processing through difficult existential questions about the nature of being. :/ thanks...

Honestly disappointed to learn Jreg isn’t aware how far you can take mindfulness. You invest enough in that stuff it’s nuts what you’re able to do. To think lighting yourself on fire and be utterly physically motionless till the point of death without a single sign of distress is not a mind blowing achievement of human capacity (not recommending it to be clear) is almost a cope. This is the type of sht our society needs

Guys, MBTI assessments are also meant to be interpreted using the spectrums that are spit out. That is to say you're not E or I, you're 63% E, 37% I. It's not strict typology, although it's still extremely flawed. Some people use it that way, as if it were astrology, but that's not how it ought to be used. I think you should try more to differentiate between the "thing itself" in an ontological sense and the ways things are used or discussed in pop culture. On that point, your comments on dopamine fall in this category too. I'm a credentialed neuroscientist and nobody in the field actually understands the function of dopamine in the oversimplified way you use it. Same goes for other neuromodulators. The framework you're using comes directly from bad faith pop science literature, grifter ex-academic podcasters, and "esteemed" Rogan guests who are coincidentally all trying to sell something. You acknowledge that, in the future, we might have a different understanding of dopamine's function in the brain. We have a different one now though and the one you seem to adhere to was never even accurate to the academic consensus to begin with. Sorry if this is harsh, I did enjoy the discussion. Unfortunately, there's a growing, profitable culture of cannibalizing my field of study to sell self-help books and supplements, and to naturalize political and philosophical beliefs by twisting the actual science into nonsense that supports already-held convictions. It's weighing on me a lot recently, and the fault is partially on me and people like me for not prioritizing effective science communication for broader audiences.
