Skateboarding is the best! Through personal stories, and experiences Tom shares how skateboarding changed my life, and in turn, Tom was able to help change others lives through skateboarding. Hear Tom talk about not only the physical, and mental health benefits skating affords, but also about diversity, inclusion, and the community around skateboarding. Tom Kemmer is a skateboarder, artist, musician, carpenter, father, and loving partner. Not necessarily in that order. He has been skating for 34 years. Tom's goal is to bring visibility to skateboarding in the FM area in an effort to build a new regional public skate park to motivate, and encourage youth, and give back a little bit of what skateboarding has given him over the years. Sk8 for life. Streetsurfing - soulmedicine in a concrete world. Skating balanced my emotions and aggressions of my youth. It taught me to fight my way through to the goal. It taught me athletic skills and an awareness of balance and fitness throughout my life. thank you for your talk, so true!

I've been looking into body movement of different styles. Including yoga, capoeira, gymnastics Etc and somehow I ended up watching videos about skateboard. I'm going to buy one in a few weeks and start my journey.

This skateboarding has save my life and bring back my life again...last year i had in car accidents and divorced my wife.... im so frustrating totally stressed...everynight i go to the bars....and got back home extremely drunk.... i do it for almost 5 or 6 months straight....i almost commit suicide....but im glad there is miracle has gave me a new hope in life.... one of my friend is a pro skateboarder....he talked to me whether i would like join him or not....i used to skate but that 20 years ago...during my teen....so i told him okay i wanna start to skate again....untill today im still skate.....no more drunk at the bars....no more hangover.....no more anxiety...... because when you rode the board everything in the world just dissapeared 😂.... all the stressed went away....and i like metal music too..im 40 now..... Thats my nick name i put Skate and Metal 😂🤘
