I have several Smith & Wessons. Cancer treatments made me too weak to rack a slide or pull a revolver trigger. I picked up the new Smith & Wesson Equilizer last Sunday. A serious enough gun that I can still operate.

I don't have any major issues with racking a slide on any normal handgun but, I do prefer the S&W Equalizer to any I've had the pleasure to shoot. I'm not a S&W fanboy but when something is nicer and works you go with it. IMO the Equalizer can hold it's on with most any handgun. The best gun is the one that works for you. I have to say that I agree with you. I generally say that I’m a Glock guy… but.. the M&P 2.0 and Shield Plus have really changed my mind. I sold my G43x for a Shield Plus as soon as I handled one. I would absolutely be carrying a M&P 2.0 Compact if I wasn’t so invested in Glock mags for my G19 gen5 mos. On top of all the value you get for the $$ for a USA made gun, I personally think the M&P 2.0 line is absolutely beautiful.

I have both the 43X mos and Shield plus 9mm. The 43X mos is less snappy than the Shield. The Shield has a better trigger. I like them both though. These carry guns are rotated quarterly for ccw and only really shot during ccw qualifications. After setting up the 43X with Shield Arms magazines, I ended up parting with my G19 gen5 mos.

I've watched hundreds of gun reviews on hundreds of guns, in particular ones I own or am thinking about owning. I totally agree that S&W is by far more progressive and innovative in improving their products, vs Glock, which seems to stick with the status quo. I've never had the issue I hear often about the grip angle and natural pointability of any of my Glocks but apparently it's "a thing" with some users... I recently acquired a new Shield Plus 2.0 9mm, and the Shield 45 2.0, and Ill be the first to say they are both superior, especially the triggers, to my Glocks (all factory original with no modifications). The Shield .45 is the most accurate pistol I've ever owned, and Ive owned a lot of guns... Great review HedgeBro! 👏

IN MY EXPERIENCE: I used to shoot Springfield XD line and I’ve even shot Glock until one of my buddies showed up to the range with his new m&p 2.0 and let me try it. MIND BLOWING experience! I was shooting better then I ever had before (and I’m not the greatest shooter) but for some reason the m&p felt good in my hands and my shooting ability shot through the roof. So I did what any reasonable person would do and I got rid of my Springfield and got a m&p 2.0 w/red dot and right out of the box my shooting was what I had experienced that day. On point 🎯.

We had major problems with those guns and our Chief stated to either fix them all or we will switch companies. Smith brought in a trailer and a gunsmith crew and replaced all the internals on every weapon. After that, we had no problems with our weapons. I agree with, that Glocks are easy and simple to operate on and this is one reason I don’t mind working on them. Both pieces are great guns. Most other striker fired brands are just as simple, proven, and durable if not more. There's quite a few manufacturers that beat glock in the torture tests. Glock didn't do that good at all in the last one. All my other pistols are very easy to take apart and very simple. The 1911 is maybe the hardest. And they are very reliable. Glocks are like the Honda Civic of pistols. S&W M&P M2.0 pistols are like the Toyota Corolla. I've personally owned and shot Glocks for longer than I have S&W M&P M2.0 pistols. Despite that fact, when I shot my Glocks head-to-head against their S&W M&P M2.0 counterparts, rented at a local indoor shooting range, I preferred the S&W pistols. I found the S&Ws easier to shoot well, besides having far superior ergonomics than my Glocks. The S&Ws were also less expensive than my Glocks. Top all that off by the fact that S&Ws are made here in America, by American Labor, and an iconic American firearms manufacturer, and it was a no brainer for me to switch to S&W. To date, my S&W M&P M2.0 pistols have proven to be every bit as reliable as my Glocks were, if not more so. Good things! 👍

For me it comes down to personal preferences, which doesn't mean "better than." My first handgun was the Glock G43X MOS. I added a Talon grip. After a couple hundred rounds I felt it was too snappy and was getting trigger pinch. Shot the G19 G5 as a range rental, shot it a good bit better but for me it felt top heavy overall. Could I get used to it? Maybe. Then I shot a Shield EZ as a range rental. Much lower recoil, loved the feel of the grip angle, was deadly accurate with it. Recently bought the Equalizer and am waiting for it to come in. Bottom line - does it mean S&W is better than Glock overall? No, not at all. It means S&W is better for me personally.

I have both Glock,s and S&W,s, and everything in Hegshot87,s video is spot on. Glock designed its first pistol ( G17) in 1982 and had been making the same pistol since 1982. Glock has had no reason to change because their pistols are the # 1 sellers in most categories and their advertising dept has done a great job. They are in movies, video games, posters, and in rap songs. You ask the average person who does not know beans about pistols to mention a pistol brand and 9 out of 10 times they will say "Glock' because they saw or heard about it in the aforementioned. The reality is being the # 1 seller of pistols is the USA does not mean you make the best pistols in the USA, it just means you sell the most. The reality is also that Glock was the best poly pistol company, when they were the only ones making poly pistols. The competition caught up to Glock, passed them up, and left them in their rear view mirror. I would love to see Glock in the future re-design their pistols and do something like H&K did with their USP line which were kind of chunky. H&K came out with their P, HK, and VP models that were totally different that their USP family.

I went to Cabelas looking for the same gun as my sons M&P and accidently bought the wrong gun, M&P Shield Plus! But after firing it,fell in love because it's so accurate! I found out that this guy at work was a gun vendor,so I asked him if he could get a deal on 2 different guns? He checked and 1 he could,so he ordered the Metal M&P 2.0. And while waiting for it I went to Vances and bought the last one they had of Mossberg 930 SPX shotgun, love it,even though I haven't fired it yet! So it left me wondering why I bought the Metal M&P 2.0. I kind of thought that I wasted my money until I finally fired it (170x) and fell in love with it because it surpasses my M&P Shield Plus in every way! It looks, feels and carries more ammo, and more importantly it makes me feel like a pro because it's more accurate than the Shield Plus! If you want to see these 2 super hot guns, click on my comment picture to go to my youtube channel because I made a very short 2:35 video of them?

The M&P still points a little high for me compared to my Sig or my CZs. I thought the ergos of the M&P were excellent until I shot CZs with LOK palm-swell grips... and a Sig P-320 with a Talon "pro texture" grip... It's all about perspective.

I carry a smith and Wesson every single day. I’ve been carrying this firearm for 4 years. It’s my go to. It’s my faith and my confidence. I also carry a Glock every single day though. I couldn’t choose between the 2 because I love them both. I conceal carry my s&w and the Glock stays in between the seat and console because I don’t want to have to worry about drawing from being seated with a seatbelt on. Can I do it? Absolutely. Do I train doing it? Absolutely. But it’s faster to just pull a second weapon out of the side of my seat. Plus, America.

I love Glock, trust my life to them. The main reason I chose Glock is that there are magazines everywhere in America, in all capacities around the country and multiple other gun companies base their guns around Glock magazines. So for SHTF and Glock seemed like a good idea. Plus there are a lot of Glocks in AZ too. That metal M&P is really dope looking and they have great variety.

I’m a CZ Guy myself. But I can’t disagree with this reasoning. I think it’s important to ignore all of the new, fancy stuff that’s always being released, and just stick with what you know works. I used to be a Glock hater, but I can admit they just run.

I agree that out of the box, OEM to OEM s&w is better, but where glock really shines is aftermarket. A fully customized glock 19 is hard to beat, like the shadow systems mr920. I prefer this over customizing a glock because since it's it's own product you can change things that you couldn't on a glock, like grip angle. The mr920 has adjustable grip angle, you can make it like a 1911, m&p or glock. The trigger is great, I put an apex 3.5 connector in mine and it made it even better with an amazing reset that's instant with no creep. That said I really fuckin love my m&p 2.0, I put an apex trigger kit in there and holy shit it's amazing, I'll never sell this gun, but I'll still carry the mr920. That's just my opinion. I definitely have thought about carrying the m&p, and I might try it some day but we'll see

I think people just talk up Glocks because they're cop guns. The M&P is worlds better. Funny thing is the easiest shooting gun I've had was a .380 hi point. Sold it but for 10 years it never jammed. Had tight grouping and nearly no recoil. When I qualified for my permit the cops were inspecting my hi-point like WTF lmao. All it had was a ghost ring. My instructor actually wanted to put rounds through it after seeing the groupings I made with it at 25 yards. I said all that to say brand wars are kind of dumb. I just hate Glock snobs.

I wish there were more hammer fired polymer options being developed personally, but if I'm at the shop and being offered a Glock 17 or a M&P9 2.0, I'm probably going to select the M&P. I feel like the stippling is too aggressive on the 2.0, but for CC people like me can just wear an undershirt. On the variety aspect, S&W is turning into reliable Kel-Tec. They're adopting ideas, but I feel like I can trust S&W out of the box after the initial cleaning. Kel-Tec, I need to go put a few hundred rounds through while honestly expecting warranty repair, and my KS7 is making that very painful. Sticking to the theme though, I should get a Glock one of these days. I know they're solid, I've just always felt a little drive towards different and came up on the 18 degree grip angle.

I have the 4". I haven't mounted an optic yet, still not sold on them. I have been testing one with my hellcat pro. I wish my 10mm had regular height night sights though. Without an optic, I'm shooting low with those. Nighttime is why I'm not sold on the optic yet. It seems to me my night sights are better than the optic. Almost no light, and very little of the target is visible in the optic in low light.

Agreed, I prefer the S&W M&P M2.0 series pistols over Glock. IMHO, the stock trigger in my S&W M&P 9 ProSeries CORE M2.0 5" is by far the best stock M&P trigger to date. The stock new flat-faced trigger in my M&P 10mm M2.0 4.6" was not good. I couldn't wait to swap it out for a Timney Alpha, what a huge improvement. Regarding revolvers, currently, the Ruger Redhawk, Super Redhawk and Super Blackhawk are all more durable, rugged and reliable than their S&W revolver counterparts, in 357 Magnum and 44 Magnum. Although the S&Ws have better triggers. Good things! 👍

Not only does S&W have a great line of products but they also stand up to overreach from our tyrannical government. Proud to own one of their products and love my Shield 2.0. I get that too. " All you see is American." My reply, " Your damn right!" " I"am an American." Period! As for the the M&P S&W makes, I carried them on duty, I also carried Glocks. I prefer the M&P hands down. Never had a misfire, its trigger on the Gen 1s to me were okay, but I come from a time in history where what ever you were issued or could afford, was your go to and become an expert with it. I started out carrying the S&W Model 10 38 Special....

I've been a Smith & Wesson advocate since I began shooting with my father MANY years ago. In recent years, S&W has outperformed Glock across the board. Shield Plus, EZ, Performance Ctr, Equalizer...etc. My go-to carry is the Shield Plus Performance Ctr. Great trigger out of the box, ported barrel (very low recoil), and perfect grip angle. I upgraded it with Trijicon HD Nite Sights. Loaded with subsonic ammo, I can put every round in the red at 30' with no problem. For an EDC, what could be better? Easy to carry, reliable, accurate and a reasonable cost. Works for me!

I have a Beretta APX but other than that all my guns are either Glock or Smith & Wesson. I can't really say which I like better. To me they are very similar.. Both are for the most part the common mans gun and deadly reliable. Neither has a lot of bells and whistles. The controls are really simple and they just do what they do extremely well which is why I cant say I like 1 over the other
