I also use them for barra but wild river fish and don't have any issues with the hooks. Barra absolutely love these things.

@@mylurebox I can't wait to try it. I threw the glide baits into the mangroves a few weeks ago and got some barra. Lost of few because they love sticking to mangrove roots but had a barra that was every bit a metre, slammed it on the surface so I started pulling him out on 50lb Briad and 80lb leader. Had his head coming to the rod so though that I had him. But he did a flip on the surface, got his head back into the timber and dusted me up. Heart breaking. But when you said it mimics a mullet on the surface, the penny dropped. Absolutely it does which is why it works so well on the barra. It slaps on the surface and the barra come out and smash it before I can give it a twitch.

A small version as well would be awesome

Be cool to see these in 90 - 110mm for those of us who use lighter tackle like 4lb braid...I dont flick anything over 90mm for crocs and still catch big fish regularly so I don't think size matters but the action is useful in certain situations...I've had success on pelagics like kingfish and tuna with your glides also snagged a couple of big shallow water snapper they work well just need some smaller versions!.

I chase flathead at least 4 times per week and I assure you, if you are chasing big girls, you have a much higher success rate throwing big lures. You can catch nice fish on small lures but you will notice the difference when you upsize.

@@mudgut69 Been chasing them since around 2014 wading flats and I'm always moving through the areas I just fished and rarely spook any that didn't bite both big and little...I'm out there pretty much every arvo fishing nothing over 90mmm and still smack em!...I've upsized and didn't see an increase in catch rate bit I did note a decrease in hook ups and decrease in overall catch rate?...plus its less enjoyable throwing around big lures on light tackle which is the main reason I stick to 90mm jerk baits...I also fish 60mm double clutches for bream and catch plenty of 70 + fish on em?...

Mate I’ve got some stuff coming this year that is gonna be right up your alley 👍 you gonna love em

@@truthbetold2012 you are definitely right about the declining catch rate. Big lures = less fish for sure. But they are bigger. It’s the same with Bream. When you upsize from a 43mm Infeet to a 60mm Double Clutch, catch rate is maybe a third what it was. But they are stonkers. I generally fish two lures at Yamba on the flats - 2 1/2 Zman Prawns & 21cm soft glides. Weirdly, I hate using 5 and 6 inch plastics. It’s small or it’s big. The middle sizes don’t do it for me.

@@mudgut69 Using both the 40s or 60s I still miss big bream and little bream!..I like the 60s better for the casting accuracy and distance... this is a big part of successful croc hunting IMO...I'm always trying to get within a meter of my last cast and my 90mm flatty whisperer casts a mile accurately so I can fan cast large areas with confidence... personally I haven't found using bigger lures means you will catch more bigger fish I know this to be true because I wade shallows and rarely spook one I've missed..I also know that covering ground effectively is 90% of successful flatty hunting....My issue with bigger unweighted plastics and glides is they are awkward and clunky on light tackle especially baits over 20cm...I'd love to see these glides with that rigging system under 110mm. Yamba is a great area I hope to one day explore!.. I'm on the NSW south coast fishing a lot of different lakes and rivers...The lost world of Jurassic park is tactical and addictive so many flats to explore so little time!

Hi, I’ve always wanted to make my own soft plastics and was wondering if you could maybe tell me how you make the design. Whether it’s making it online or cutting wood etc

Mate I think there’s probably a few reasons and I’ve heard different things from removing lice and worms to seeing them just spook and jump… I’d love to know all the reasons.. but what I do know for sure is that it’s a call out to the big Flathead that they’re very dialled in on. 👍 watching mullet behaviours at any given time is part of getting a big bites for sure. The bait behaviour tells me a lot about what must be happening at times eh. Have you ever watched bait and got the sense like they’re completely freaking and on edge?
