So the past few years I’ve been going with a buddy and I’m missing going solo- a lot! I think it’s time to get to my roots. Thanks for watching, Bill 👊

Love it man. I love being alone and hiking by myself. I have a personality that I can go days without wanting to talk or be around people. Being a Paramedic for so long I need this time alone and we are self isolating people as it is.

@MG-ze3lf Those who care for others (like yourself) sometimes put themselves on the back burner. There’s only so much you can give. I’m glad you get out there and give yourself a break - I’m sure you need it. Thanks for your comment and for watching, my solo brother 👊

I'll put this out there first, I'm a married 67 yo female. I love hiking solo, backpacking alone, and car camping by myself. I love the freedom. I do a lot of thinking on the trail, solid thought processing, problem solving, and logical planning. I've experienced some intense emotional times by myself in the forest. Others worry that I go off by myself, and wonder how and why? But to me it's so logical and enjoyable. I guess the serenity and sense of freedom can only be understood by those of us who go out solo and experience it. That being said, I'm still attempting to get friends out on the trail so they can experience the fun of hiking and backpacking. I'm happy to take them out there and share my knowledge, and have a good time with them. But I will always cherish the times that I get away by myself.

I bet a lot of people think you’re crazy. Not this guy. Going with others is fun and all, but there’s something magical and soul refreshing about bring out there alone. Appreciate your wise insights - Hike strong and hike on 💚

Hey Nat, this was a great video, I really hope your channel continues to grow, it's really good content. A lot of other creators are focused on places, or gear, which is great. This is a very good reminder of what it's ACTUALLY all about - which is connection. Connection to nature, other people... and to ourselves!! I love solo backpacking, it's the predominance of hiking overnights I'm out on my own. I couldn't agree more with the value of it in it's own right, then bad perceptions that it gets, and the profound connection that you can get when you do it on your own.

No matter how long the trail is you cannot outrun those demons.

@Rando-user-zm1fx I like your philosophical edge. Maybe not outrun, but accept and grow from the experiences?
