South Africa has a BMW factory so there was tonnes of these cars produced at the time of manufacture it was a popular car of choice so don't worry there is still plenty in South Africa unlike the rest of the world where it's become rare.

We've been doing this since the early 2000's. Internet wasn't available to showcase to the world., unlike the US that has a lot of influence on media. Trust me thus thing has been going on for decades. Search "Skidmarks South Africa" for more information because Americans and the rest of the world confuse this with their sideshows - which we do much better.
