Saint Petersburg is truly magnificent. From its Imperial architecture to its long canals. Absolutely among the most beautiful cities in all of Europe.

That's exactly why I didn't enjoy it as much though. It's too European, most buildings look exactly the same as somewhere in Europe or colonized by them. I enjoyed visiting smaller cities near Moscow and St. Pete more then those themselves. Novgorod's Kremlin is fantastically beautiful and there's an awesome monastery in an island in a lake in the nearby region (forgot the name of the place, if someone knows please share). I highly recommend you visit this city and region if you're going to St. Pete. Located between it and Moscow you can add it as a stop for a day or two in your itinerary.

@@ZechsMerquise73 No, I have dealt with this in my own family and first you can turn ads on or off if you have a monetized channel, he said it would be for 3 months, for a brief time there were no ads along with his statement at the beginning, when the ads reappear you are monitized again. If KZbin demolitions you for 3 months, they do not reinstate before that time is up. Channels that are not monetized do not have ads. So the only way he is able to have ads( be monetized) after only approximately a month, is by him doing it. It was the said demonstration that prompted him to ask for money or to pay to follow him on Patreon. The ads reappeared upon the posting of the newest video and when the first couple posts we made on that video, acknowledging his return of monetization and a subsequent comment from another viewer, he deleted those comments and the other viewers subsequent comment as well. So, those things do not add up. These are not my opinions, but facts. I am not pleased, but sadly the incidents of this are growing at an alarming rate. People are free to investigate and make up their own minds, but I also believe they have to have as much information as possible, in order to make a judgment call.

Hey Roman, while you are right there are many famous and prominent Lutheran churches in Saint Petersburg, I believe that the church in your video at 21:50 is the Church of St Catherine Catholic Church. I ve moved to Saint Petersburg from NYC as well and I am from a Russian-American family. Have never regretted that decision in all those years I ve been living here (winters are too long and dark though). Can just give you a couple of hints. First come visit that city first and stay for several months here to understand if St.P. and Russia are good for you. Second if you are planning to work in Russia (and not remotely for the US company which will be great) you should forget about comparing your income with an American one - the salaries here are like 3 times lower but your expenses are much lower too so it just like another money here. Third if you are planning to live in St.P. make sure it is the historical downtown area. Living in a Soviet commieblock or even a new apt building in outskirts just takes most of the fun away. Everything else here - the city itself, people, food, events, nightlife are fantastic.
@yekatyaap5483 жыл бұрын
@@PaulV. yooo that’s crazy my family is also from St P and live as immigrants in nyc lmao. That’s exactly where I’d want to immigrate since I have family there. How would you say the healthcare is? I’ve heard it’s not as good as in America but idk how true that is. Also what would you say the best jobs in Russia are?
@PaulV.3 жыл бұрын
@@yekatyaap548 The good thing about Russian healthcare is that you always have a choice. You can go to a municipal clinic and have some average service but it will be totally free. A really good option for different tests, exams or in case you just need some help with flu or minor bone fracture etc. On the other hand there are a lot of private clinics in Russia with outstanding services and you can use them as well. They cost money but it still just a fraction of the US prices. As for jobs probably the best are those that presume work for some really large Russian or international corporation. But there are a lot of different options as well. Anyway life here is very affordable. You need like $500 monthly if you own a mortgage free apt for all your expenses and another $500 if you are planning to rent some not very large but decent one in downtown. For $1k you can rent like a large 3b with jakuzzi and stuff near Nevsky Pr. itself.

@@russianvoodoo thats probably because most native Russians are thinking that live in NYC is similar to that they see in Hollywood movies and TV shows. But usually to have life like the one shown a person has to be really well off and live in some pretty expensive neighborhood.

Thank you for the continued great insight into your world and today, this very beautiful city. I remember when I was a child in the 1950s imagining Russia and Eastern Europe being all black, white and grey. Between you and Bald it's amazing how much that is not the case. I have two requests though. Please PAN SLOWER! Think of your camera as a remote version of every single viewer in your audience. When you think you're panning slow enough, PAN SLOWER. Don't treat your camera like a spray paint nozzle! And also, when speaking and cutting your audio, please TALK SLOWER and leave more breath pauses. Without them, it's very hard to take in everything you're saying. Sorry for the criticism, but I want to enjoy your content more!
