But after the initial rally, investors may start selling to secure profits, causing the price to drop as a reaction to the initial buying spree. 3. Short Selling: When traders short a stock (sell expecting the price to fall), it creates downward pressure. If enough buying (action) from bargain hunters or short-covering occurs, the stock’s price can reverse upward as a reaction.
