I'm not sure if you'll guys share the same opinion with me but for me I love every single song suju sang 💙 like their music is amazing and that's why I trust their choices and I give each song the appritiation cause suju worked on it 😁 I love every single song they made all these 17 years including Spy and the fact that they hated it is the funniest thing 😅😅 One last thing is if you are from an area that is known for its diversity and variety of music types and styles you'll love spy hhhh just like me 😊 Thank you for making this video 💙✨

Ooh I've always thought the choreography is the reason they disliked this song bec it's very stylized and more story-telling than other songs (jumping over obstacles, opening doors etc). The last reason though... mind-blowing! How did we not notice the structure is indeed so different? It's like a few songs rolled in one but coherent enough I guess that you don't quite notice it. Very informative, Echo~ love it!! You know I want you to do more of such vids, hehe~

SPY is a great song but it's unfortunate that SUJU is technically a 8 member group now, and SPY was written and choreographed when the group had Kangin and Sungmin in their line up. It is a song with very intricate choreography, requiring all members' participation. Other songs they can easily readjust for an absent member and the choreography will still be fine. but with SPY, you have these members missing, and the choreography doesn't really work because everyone has their own part to play. SUJU did perform SPY at their Super Show 9 in Seoul but with a Beethoven twist, which gets around the choreography issues. Even though it was a light hearted performance, the crowd loved hearing the song after all these years

Let me start by saying that personally, I like the song very much as well, and it was even the first song that made me notice SuJu, but mostly because I've always been a Bond fan (which is relatively unusual for women). Actually, the song was a flop when it came out, and most fans, who are female, still don't like it. And I think that the fact that it was a flop after some of their biggest hits is the simplest explanation why they stopped performing it - they were simply agreeing with the audience at first, but then fans starting trolling them by requesting it. These fans explicitly say that they are being sarcastic. I'm not so sure SuJu didn't like it while they made it. Most men like James Bond, and guns are particularly fascinating in some Asian countries, because in contrast to the USA they are difficult to obtain (a common topic in action films). SuJu did the entire SS5 in a Bond concept, and they seemed to enjoy it, and also a big music awards show performance of "Spy" with elaborate staging. And the reason why the producers thought it would fit SuJu probably was that they had become famous for wearing suits in "Sorry, Sorry"! And especially Siwon really does look like an Asian version of Bond, so it's not so far fetched. Also, "childish" music is quite popular in Asia, it is regarded as cute. I think most people recognize the visual references to Bond, but I don't think that they understood the musical ones: the melody is a ripoff of a Bond parody, GET SMART, plus a faint hint of the original Bond theme. And the horns are reminiscent of Mardi Gras music, which is a frequent setting in Bond films, but nobody seems to get that. I don't know whether SuJu understood that or not, and of course music should also work on a sensual and emotional level, not just on an intellectual one. I only ever heard Ryeowook explictly say that he "hates" the song, and in his case it might be because it not only doesn't give him much opportunity to show his vocal talent; this is true for the other members as well, but also their previous EDM-type songs. With Ryeowook it's just particularly extreme, because he gets a solo in a very low range, whereas his forte are high notes. As for the choreography, I just heard them say that they don't remember it, which may simply be due to having stopped performing it, and also because of lineup changes, and one part with the floor work etc is not exactly difficult, but it is intricate and in contrast to the usual K-Pop choreography requires different moves from each member, so they are not interchangeable. I still use the "annoying" jingle as my ringtone. My only quibble is that the concept doesn't fit my bias Leeteuk very well, but that's partly due to his hairstyles. :) He wasn't in SS5, because he was in the military. But they did an action movie concept again in SS6, and he looks quite fetching in that - up until a sequence where he fights like a girl. :)

tbh SPY and A-cha are SJ songs I dislike the most lol. The only thing i like about SPY is the choreography

I have to admit, it took me a while to appreciate A-Cha as well, but now I don't mind it! Spy's choreo is really good, I love it too!

@@superjuniorsecho I love them both but they're the type of songs that have a specific time to listen hhhh like spy, a-cha, superman for me I don't listen to these everyday 💙💙 but them mentioning spy it makes me laugh so hard cause other groups treat their songs like their babies but suju hate or ghost them simply 🤣🤣

Ngl... I hated SPY at first, i listened to it a lot to understand(?) it, i still don't get it, but i don't mind it anymore. Now i think it's endearing, quite fun, not my favorite, but i enjoy it 😂
