While I prefer Shintani's style for current Dragon Ball (DBS: Broly was an AMAZING looking movie after all.) Buu arc Yamamuro's style is still the best DB style for me outside of Toriyama's manga. Especially the work Yamamuro did in Fusion Reborn... I honestly think that Fusion Reborn is the best in terms of artstyle and a big part of that was Yamamuro. Too bad his current style seems more... stiff and plastic like... it CAN look good (BoG REALLY proved that) but not always.

One thing old and modern Yamamuro are good at is having priorities on precision and foundation. My favorite animators from DBZ have to be Kazuya Hisada and Masahiro Shimanuki. Their artwork, while not completely accurate to the character model sheets, was equal if not better than Yamamuro's in my opinion. Their animation was at the top for me because of how dynamic it was. The squash and stretch, the timing of the animation, the way they drew beams, the bulky muscles, the jaws/chins. It all culminated in this raw and violent version of DBZ that defined my childhood. Super kinetic and 3D feeling if you catch my drift. I'd love to see you make a video on them, maybe together since they're so similar. Great job btw, keep it up!

His expressions just seemed so alive and all the scenes he was in seemed so clean. I'd say my personal ranking for story and artwork in dbz would be Namek/Frieza: Story (the artwork was absolutely amazing when it came out and it still is believe me. I'm not saying it was bad, just compared to the later sagas it was ever so slightly behind) Android/Cell: Story + Artwork (a nice in between in both categories) Buu saga: Artwork (the story aspect became sort of aimless right up until the end)

Good way to put it, but a lot of the plastic colours in his work seem to be a trend seen through a lot of anime especially in the 2000's so I won't blame him entirely for that but why his style hasn't developed over the past decades is possibly due to working on the same thing and not branching out.
