Why TDS should stop making Events

the funny thing is, no matter if they chose to work on the main game or events theres gonna be people who will complain about it. People are usually upset cus they most likely trying to focus on some sort of events. But in the other hand when pizza party mode was released there were some people complaining about not having a hw event instead. Considering that they're also part of the roblox hunt in 2024 thats just gonna make things even worse. Unless if they just make a low effort one for that hunt which is also bad

the major problem with events are event towers, like I started playing in 2023 so I missed: -gladiator -commando -slasher -frost blaster -archer -swarmer -toxic gunner -slegder -executioner -elf camp and as you can see, that is 10 towers, wich is around 1/5 TOTAL TOWERS IN THE GAME, the game balancer even said that making them purchasable though via gems/coins after the event ends so they won't be gatekeeped away from f2p players

None of the event towers are meta, if they’re great, they’re being nerfed to be good. They’re bad, they’re being buffed to be good. You also have to understand that event towers being put on sale are what give TDS most of their income, they have an entire dev team alongside an office for each of their employees. When the gladiator was brought back as a gamepass for the first time, people buying gladiator gave TDS almost, if not more than the total income they they got that same year, including all the gamepasses, private servers, nitro boosting, etc.

For me I'd say that if you beat the event (permanent) you'd have to unlock the event towers by coins or gems next. This way people won't like solo every event and get all event towers at once

The problem I see with that is it would require a lot of maintenance managing 18 gamemodes (19 if you include metaverse champions) on top of the base gamemodes. It would also make the game incredibly bloated and stressful for newer players.

Make events replayable but the rewards of events unobtainable after a certian period of time. That way you have lots of variety when it comes to content but theres also the exclusivity of the event rewards

they are limited. You are absolutely correct. But that doesn't mean they should lock the events after they're gone. Its just bad for the both sides. Imagine having solar eclipse back again with the tower. Not only its nostalgic and easier to make events but people also can obtain the towers they couldn't at the time. Its a win win if you really think about it

I mean yeah the events are suppose to be "limited time content", just to entertain the playerbase meaning they'll have more time to make evergreen content like the chaos mode But if they brought them back as gem or coins, they should rebalance/rework them first and then put them back as evergreen towers (or for just limited time) and give the og players who beaten the event a skin (just in case people are claiming they're og)

Tower heroes is another td type of game and i personally love it, it also kinda depends on events but the devs said there gonna work more on fix hard maps balance towers and pretty much try to focus on normal updates and yes there are gonna be events but not that huge like before i think tds devs should do the same

the only real thing id have to say about bringing back events and their towers are set levels based on progression to unlock the playable event and a requirement other than simply beating the event to get the tower, which would also mean there would need to be a period of time after the event where it gets removed to be made level locked and also a time when the tower would be limited, but tbh at that point it seems fair, and there being a new event accesible every 10-15 level depending on level range (level1-60, 60-120, 120-200 etc.) seems acceptable, 15 levels being for the lower ranges and 10 for being the higher ones

I agree with most of this video, except the part where "events should stay forever." If they stay forever they wouldnt be events anymore and there would be no real point in playing the events because you could just play them some other time. The fear of missing out and the huge content drop is what gets people to play, if it stays forever, people will leave it to collect dust after a while and the game wouldnt really be fun because many players enjoy collecting limited towers and skins.

honestly I think some sort of campaign mode would be sick, like a permeant solar eclipse but much more levels that are more intense, possibly with new gimmicks. That way theres constant hype, things remain permeant, the game isn't just clustered with random game modes, and its fun. Then at the end you could still get a tower, or even multiple.

Events are not even a "core value of the game" when tds doesn't always have an event going on. The permanent features of the game is the Core value since that's how the player play the game at first and obtain the necessary towers to beat events depending on their difficulty. I'm simply stating in the that the current state of the game is not the right time to make events.

I think they should make a new game mode thats harder than Fallen. Because some players are too good. People now can solo hardcore,fallen,pizza party..And we could really use some brand new and unique mechanics that will really spice up the game.And for the most part i kind of agree with the video.
