Fun (?) fact, many bike lanes in German cities are actually colored red, so it doesn't look that odd to me. The contrast to the green takes some getting used to, obviously. Maybe you can use a darker green color? Anyway, I love the patience and foresight you put into your city this time. You seem totally comfortable with leaving some empty spaces on the map because you know something will fill them later, like for example the factory and oil industry you built here. This is something a lot of players don't do.

Yeah, I really enjoyed the lane markings and colors with the switch to red at the intersections so that drivers, bikers, and pedestrians can take care through them as multiple vehicle types will be using the lanes and crossing over each other. I wish we painted our bike lanes here in the states.

@@gormster , Actually real life would do opposite. Building more residential will increase property values in the city. Bigger cities produce more economic value per capita which will increase price people are willing to pay for a property. This of course assumes the city is growing providing there will be demand for new housing. If city is stagnating or shrinking, then other bottlenecks will cause property values collapse with missing demand. Usually people don't construct new housing in a city without growth potential.

@@suokkos … yeah, no. supply and demand still work the same in growing cities. look at places like Vancouver, San Francisco, Sydney - all have increasing population, all have housing shortages, all have staggeringly high house prices. compare to, say, Melbourne, where there has been a huge supply of new housing - prices have remained fairly steady there compared to Sydney. I guess if you got to the point where there is literally nowhere left to live within even a lengthy commute to the city, then you might see the effect you describe. but real cities don't work like that. house prices decrease (and availability increases) gradually the further you get from the CBD.

In Germany, at least in Nord Rhein Westfalen, Bicycle lanes are red. Not every where, but always in high traffic areas.

The split university district is a great idea! The university my brother went to is kinda like that. The main campus is in the middle of the city, but they have a few departments really far away. It's cool to see it work in Cities!

University is split into schools. If you have arts and crafts, there will be students that wants to study something else. Make sure you cover all 3 schools available.

Biffa - you gotta snap those campus paths to each other! They're not like regular pedestrian paths approaching roads where the game automatically connects them. You have paths "intersecting" that look weird. Also, when you add a one way loop for a bus like you did in the Oil area, always go counter clockwise that way they don't have to intersect! I suspect this is an artifact of you thinking natively in left side driving? Love your work and creativity! Good luck and to a speedy recovery.

Quick reminder, because your using the highway roads in the small roundabout at your basketball arena that eliminates the options for students to walk there so you could just make a path connection or something. Otherwise they’d have to go around the larger roundabout just to get there.😁

Minor thing, but the direction the buses turn when you added the extra stop by the oil industry means they are making two left turns and crossing traffic/each other. If the bus stop was on the other side of the road then they would be turning right and would have to stop less!

Just a thought about the university campus' spread around the city. Think it would be cool to have an underground metro line linking all the campus....call it the universi-tea-link. Have it as a circular line that way you can add more satellite buildings bringing in the larger residential areas as the city grows

The first thing to come to mind as a suggestion as a name for the new oil industrial zone was "Tea Tree Oil Production". However, it seems to me that it might have been used in a previous series. With that in mind, I also suggest that it could be called "Sea Bee Tea Oil"

In terms of game mechanics, spreading your university buildings around the city is actually the optimal way, which I guess is good if you're a fan of the college town look. The Drama Club (and respective club types for other university types) are the best bang for the buck attractiveness generators until unlocking the #2 statues with Prestigious rank.

Biffa the reason why cares are using your bus lanes is becasue they can’t make the turns, only the busses for example at 33:35 only the bus lane off the roundabout can turn towards the theme park
