That is actually probably a good thing because it will have a niche in a tier since it will probably drop to ou.

Main thing the turtle has over most of those mons is that while it does need a lot more to get going, it has likely higher pay off than arceus or kyogre: movepool’s extremely flexible and since it only really needs 3 moves: rock polish, calm mind and tera star storm, 4th move can be whatever it wants to for specific counters. Trying to status it as it boosts, never mind it used substitute, want to use unaware mons like clodsire to beat it, it just revealed stored power and now just blasts through them, and they can’t tera to resist the hit since then they become weak to tera starstorm And going back to basis, it does have a no resist powerful stab move as its main attack, that alone is probably something the likes of ekiller and kyogre would kill to have. Also side note, most of the time when using double dance, it prefers polishing first to have the speed to calm mind, or generally have control over the situation, and the Mon actually becomes deadly on screen styles

​@@Cigmacica nope, it's not just simply very similar to Zygarde, it is straight up Zygarde without any of the things that made Zygarde bad also there's probably not a better typing than normal for it to be fair, like, 160 HP 110 in both defenses and only weak to one type? Oh, and with a 120 BP from a 130 spatck STAB always neutral move? Yeah, good luck switching in so yeah it is good

Gen 9 DLC legendary are nothing compaired to the DLC for sword/sheild. Gen 8's legendary's were mostly broken. Urshifu and shadowrider were crazy. Infinitly more powerful and impactful then the new legendary pokemon.

It feels a lot more "impactful" for the legendaries to be mid tier, i.e. very strong in ou but not just straight ubers. And remember, last gen had the new bird forms, they were way less devastating than the new paradox legends

I imagine it’s bc it’s so Tera reliant and frankly it doesn’t have much going beyond bulk. It’s defenses and offenses are not that impressive when you consider that you have to sacrifice your one Tera for a battle for it. It’s predictable and there’s no other way to use it and be competitive without having it use Tera

I mostly wish it got access to giga drain or some other consistent recovery move so it would have repeatable use of its non-terastalized form’s ability. It’s okay-ish with using a shell bell for recovery as long as you can deal big damage to your opponent, but it would be better if it was able to recover on its own

I'm sure the only reason Terapagos is not UUbers is because it is a genuinely good spinner, the best one by far considering the other two are too easy to punish with Kyogre, and its access to "multiscale" does help a lot. That's a valuable niche but it should fall below 4.5% usage by march because it lacks recovery to be a reliable spinner.

At UUbers, it has to fight with Cyclizar and Tusk for the same role which is not a good sign..

From playing the tier terapagos is actually semi decent as basically the only hazard control in the meta. Bulky sets can be pretty annoying to kill since the best fighting type in the tier doesn’t carry fighting moves on its un-choiced sets plus it’s ability with its bulk means it can basically always eat one big hit. Offensive sets can lure important Pokémon like HooH. It’s definitely not a world beater but it has it’s got its place and I’d say is a perfectly respectable Pokémon. Less of a Primal-Groudon and more of a Giratina.

Tbh, I feel like even tho it's really strong in terms of OU, it probably wasn't completely ban worth. Idk, they could've implemented a tera restriction or something- running terapagos eats up your tera slot. That way you can still have all the jank and bulk that comes with it, but it's clearly telegraphed that you'll be relying on it. Hazards nullify its terastal form ability on switch in, also. After that, Tera Starstorm would be the only real point of contention- which probably would still lead to a ban tbf, but idk. Never been a big fan of emergency bans of any kind outside of yugioh, and that only really happens when you get some 5th dimensional jank on your hands in-which the best form of counterplay is to stand up and slam your opponent's head into the table and claim Egyptian Satan made you do it in court

There mainstay rule pretty much is, if you're forced to run it, or counterplay to it, it is too overcentralising to the tier. Also an entire rule having to be coded in just to deal with one pokemon is a clear reason it is a problem

@@grydon6422 it's fat better explained by the ou council themselves, " Now, some of you may wonder why we're banning Terapagos and not looking into the Tera type Stellar. The simple reason for that being is we have not seen Stellar be broken on multiple Pokemon or even seen a Pokemon other than Terapagos use it to its full extent, and furthermore Stellar type based on tiering would likely be viewed under the scope of Tera as a whole and not separately. Being that we have stated numerous times we won't weigh in on Tera other than a public suspect vote, it naturally leads to us focusing on Terapagos the mon itself. "

I really love Terapagos and I actually used quite a lot in Gen 9 Doubles Ubers(Since VGC format is not restricted yet) and it’s pretty Solid,although I am not sure if Meteor Beam Set or Calm Mind works Edit:Terapagos won Second in Indy Regionals.

That's because terapagos relies on its gimmick rather than type or strength. I wouldnt be surprised if it was completely unavailable in the next generation because tera will no longer be a thing and Terapagos literally cannot function without it.
