As someone born in the 80s, and got to see the history of tech in the previous couple decades and the huge jumps until around 2010, a lof of the improvements since the have been lackluster. Since 2010, a lot of the improvements have been a consolidation of devices into a smartphone, streaming audio/video, improvements in screen quality, touch sensitivity, and enough ram/cpu/storage where a lot of us are past the point of constantly running out. IoT pretty much failed - who needs a tablet attached to your fridge. Home security cams are getting popular, but a lot of us dont like voice assistants. I havent found much of a use for AI yet. Maybe im getting old, but even 20 years ago, wouldnt have even considered a VR headset. Being able to pull out a small pocket device and find businesses, directions, weather, news, song lyrics, how to-s, and take and play back photos and videos all almost instantly really seems to be the end game for most people. When i really got into computers 30 years ago and someone could gave shown me a modern smartphone, even then, i could have seen that that was probably the end game. Maybe a small clip on projector to project a 6ft screen and a keyboard and mouse, but thats easily doable nowadays

Nah man, it's shit. Quest 2 is way better than this and 3 is 10 years ahead. "World is not ready", like apple fanboys can never accept that their fav company might just be abusing them with half ass products which have 5x the price and give -5x the features

This video is highly underrated

The whole video is copy of another video when vision pro just released. Now we know that meta has a more than 7 times cheaper product that is better in every way

Main issue was the price

It was the high price tag other than that it’s a great product. Had the starting price been $1000 a lot more people would have bought it including myself.

Yeah, but would you still be using it?
@Sethmotley3 ай бұрын
@@Grizazzle if you’re asking me this question, at the price point I mentioned you damn skippy I’d be using it.

People are sick of screens post 2020. And no one wants to glue one to their face.

to me this is product is of $100 or less worth. its is over engineered for what it can actually do. the actual price is insane for what its worth.

Price is very low hence it failed, increase price to 500000$ it will suceed like rolls royce as rich will definitely buy.

Want to know why the vision pro, PlayStation VR, Meta, and Oculus failed? It's so obvious. VR is a high-tech blindfold behind which we don't see the real world; instead, we see a fake reality. So...our body is here in the room, but we're miles away in a nonmaterial illusion of reality. Other than the headset, how am I not describing a dream? Being that we're all reasonably intelligent human beings, what product do we expect will work best for a stellar new platform that is, in fact, an exact replica of the only naturally occurring platform for narrative power there is? What killer app will work with least resistance for a platform shaped EXACTLY like a dream? A desktop? Nope. A banking app? No. A website? No. A game? No. A productivity enhancer? Absolutely not. Why is VR failing? The smartest guys in the room can't see the obvious; VR isn't a computer screen; it's a zoetrope for dreams!

Nope. It failed because they still can't make the damn things comfortable to wear.. Thats the biggest reason by far. Also no apps, hardly any games that work well in vr. I've tried very very hard to make VR work for me. I love it for the insane immersion in flying,racing games but other than that I much rather use a monitor anyday.
