Love my 25’ G87 with a manual. Same exact powerplant as the m3 and m4.. minus the torque with the manual. Still crazy underrated power #’s. Feels near my 650 HP ZL1, and this one doesn’t stall for no reason like BOTH ZL1’s I owned. Definitely feels like a just under 600 hp car.

Crazy that you are comparing it to the ZL1, I gotta drive an M2 I need to see what the hype is about -Kyle

It was between the M2 and M3 for me. I ended up ordering the M3 with a manual. Wanted something fun but also practical and the 3 just did that far better than the 2. Anyways it’s about 3 weeks away coming right around Christmas hyped as hell.

Y'all got the first part mostly wrong. The M3 was small. People weren't wondering about the 135 or the M. It was the M3 in the size it should have stayed as you mentioned. Cars just keep getting larger when they don't need to be. Now the M2 is real M3 which is why it looks like the E30 but modern. Also everyone talking about the weight. It's almost the same dimensions of the M4. The M3 has gone away from what it was built for. It is now a super family car.

That's interesting, and you are right to say the M3 used to be much smaller, guess they just needed to keep up with everything getting bigger. "M2 is the real M3" heard it here first -Kyle

You are spot on. I think people did not recognize the 1 series as a performance car when it came out. Its chassis was soft feeling and its M variant did not look like a traditional M car. However, a decade later that turned into the 2 series which definitely carries more of the lineage of the original 3 series than the current 3 and 4 series do. -Mike
