I would love to watch the whole message since I'm sure that artists at local churches should be aware of the existing need. It's not only an esthetic aspect of having beautiful panflets, attractive websites/photographs, etc... Art is fully complete when God is glorified by it. Thank you guys

Love this, especially about artists preparing the way! I was meditating on Jeremiah 18 the other day and was so impressed that God led Jeremiah to the potter's house and spoke words to him as he watched the potter moulding clay: art is 100% a means of God's word becoming flesh!

This is so true! The Church needs Artists! This is why I paint prophetic paintings and other christian paintings. God is so creative that he loves every possibility to comunicate with us :) I mean, one picture is able to say more than 1000 words.... Blessings to all readers of this comment :)

@Set Sail, Almost four years ago, on September 2014, I made a DISCOVERY that definetely helped me continue to be hopeful in my journey of faith in Jesus. I discovered the band Rivers & Robots through a music streaming service during a hard time of adaptation to my quality of vision loss. Loved the different sound and the biblically inspired lyrics. You are my favorite English Christian artist like the first one I recommend to my friends who are learning English. You do an outstanding job of bringing creativity to worship and it's my pleasure to support you in any way I can. I'm so glad i discovered Jonathan and then way to Set Sail... I'm also an artist here in Philippines and I have a hard time on how I can put God with my arts that could tell the gospel and stuffs... knowing about Set Sail gave me the realization that through art people can find and experence God.

I’m trying to put God in my art too if you like to draw I suggest drawing well known bible characters or beloved scenes from scripture or if you can animation is a brilliant way to bring stories of God to life

Thanks for the video! I’ve done some art missionary work once in my past and haven’t done it since but really miss it. I can remember the joy of evangelizing and creating in another country where God, through the Spirit of his word and art, spoke to those who were lost. I go to a reform baptist church where the word of God is held up above everything and they don’t like so called “experiences” or “feelings” outside of the scriptures. They believe in the Holy Spirit and it’s power but in a cessionist way, where the gifts of the Holy Spirit was only for the apostolic age. There was a time where I believed that but have come to see things differently. I believe that doctrine and theology is important but also being lead and baptized in His spirit. Fellowship I once heard this pastor say to me “ you haven’t experienced the fullness of God because you haven’t stepped into the fullness of His calling.” After all that being said, as a husband and father of 2, I’m going to trust the Lord and take a step of faith and continue my call as an evangelist artist. Don’t know what that will look like but trust that the Spirt will lead.

So I did a mural at our church. (Jesus and the woman at the well, behind the drinking fountain). I was talking to a woman about doing another one, and she said, "Oh we don't need another one. You already did that one." I wanted to say, "So the worship team sang last Sunday, maybe we don't need more songs?" Why is there a hierarchy of which arts/gifts are the most important? Do you address that at Set Sail?

I live in Miami, Fl and visit Georgia quite a lot. That said, Wynwood is a location in South Florida dedicated to art, that would be a great location. At an event like this, Miami could definitely benefit from hearing about Jesus and His unconditional love, as well as being humble and putting other before yourself. The culture here is so built on vanity and selfishness, it is the greatest obstacle in here to understanding the heart of God. Then there is Atlanta, Georgia, which is quickly growing as an artist hub. I don't know much about the culture there, so I can't make any suggestions, but just another idea of a location to look into for the future. :) Thank you for sharing this video. I really loved this video & what you are doing!! I've really felt a pull & a need to be creative my whole life but, sometimes I struggle with knowing purpose. Recently, I painted a little fall birch forrest landscape that sits below my TV & every time I look at it I think, "Be still, and know that I am God." (sometimes an image can remind or speak to us in such a way, even if It's not a painting of The Lord's Supper) - It's so encouraging to see other Christians that create.

Most of my life I was not very strong in my faith but these last couple years I started going to a traditional Church and I'm just a month away from my Confirmation and all of a sudden my faith has accelerated, I could have never dreamed of feeling so passionate in my faith. I've started writing down bible verses and Catechism in my sketchbook and drawing around it and now I feel capable of creating artworks based of the Faith. A feeling I've strived for, for so long and now it's finally come. Understanding why art is so important in the Church is so important and something we cannot lose.

The Lord blessed me as a creative type; He gave me the ability to very vividly and lucidly visualize things and things just kind of come to me. For example, just looking at an everyday thing like a tea pot, it begins to change into different patterns, forms, designs, shapes and colors in my mind, and i can see it in the object, especially when im in my flow. The Lord is good forever :) Amen! I've never used this gift for anything really except for my own enjoyment but for a while now, iv had a call to make some kind of art work to inspire and enrapture peoples minds into the gospel message and bring them into the knowledge of the truth. I think God inspired art can help to build the kingdom, God bless everybody 🌈🕊

God's timing is amazing - I really needed to hear this especially after a few festivals I went to did not go as well as I had hoped. YES we need more opportunities to get together as members of the creative community to encourage and inspire each other, especially for those who are part of smaller churches and/or who are expressing their creativity in areas which are slightly off the mainstream.
