I think that it could work if they do it right but seeing the Superman trailer makes me think that they are already going for a different level. Like: batman is good when he's a detective or a hero for the streets, for gotham. The stakes need to stay low for a little more for it to work because The Batman was so grounded that a too fantastical planet level threat could kill the franchise with the whiplash. With the superman movie they showed us green lantern (wich is basically a free ticket galxy expanding franchise of universe protecting beings) and a big ass alien. I like superman but the difference in scale with this Batman is really big so I think they'll jusy make a more flashy Batman for the DCu

The scale is too big the more I think about it. I couldn’t see him having a chance against the big ass alien in the trailer😂unless they make him less grounded. That could work because he’s already a step above being completely grounded(he took a bomb to the face). But like you said the scale is too big and that’s too risky for a franchise that’s just starting ,so flashy Batman is the safest option.
