I feel bad for all the dudes who bought Ford and Dodge from 99-‘07, they missed out big time!
@TheSavage3.63 ай бұрын
as someone who likes dodge, you’re completely correct. ford and dodge during those years couldn’t even match 10% of the greatness of the GMT800 platform.

@@TheSavage3.6 I mean personally I’m a fan of all trucks from that era, but the GMT800s were just on another level.

Well said! In my area they sell for $3000. The 2500 6.0's transmission is rated for 280,000 miles and the engine 330,000-360,000. A lot for sale in my area with 360,000 miles.

How did you go about coating your frame? It looks good, I’ve been wanting to buff mine down and coat it

It’s just Walmart spray paint with no prep work. It’ll look good for a while then need done again

320,000 original miles on my 05 tahoe with the original 4l60e and the only upgrades electric cooling and a giant radiator as it hauled 10,000 pounds but these truc’s do have body rot issues and frame rot is caused from people not washing the damn thing but some paint or rhino line or under coat on the body will do the trick I recently bought a lb7 with a rebuilt engine and transmission with 348,000 miles yes the rockers are bad but the frame has no rot of any kind if I gotta buy another cab in the future I will but for now it passes inspection

Every 2000-2006 Sierra crew cab I see is like 10-15k with 200k miles lol
@tinsano60309 ай бұрын
The 2000 to 2006 Chevy/GMC trucks of that era are total Rot box garbage. I personally have junked 285 of those trucks due to the fact the cabs rot out from the outer rockers in towards the floorboards beyond repair. Also due to the fact the frames rot & fall apart from the back the cab to the rear bumper. Which I have been able to rebuild the rear frame sections & beds & cabs on a couple dozen for customers. Must of the time they get hauled to the scrap yard with my 88 chevy k2500 with 350 & sm465 transmission, also has crank windows, manual locks single cab with an 8ft flat bed that's hauled over 3 tons on that bed alone. I'll stick with my 88.

2000-2006 trucks are way better then square bodies. You just can’t get the reliability of these from a square body. And the frames and small weak and twist and break on the square body.
@tinsano60309 ай бұрын
@@JoshuaOverman my 88 isn't a square body it's an obs. I do own a 84 half ton 4x4 square body also that I put 1 ton leaf springs on that also has a 350 & a sm465 that I personally have hauled 20 various v8 motors on its flat bed that was a total weight of 9,500 lbs on multiple occasions with no issues whatsoever. So again you've got no clue what a real work truck is.

“Beyond repair” sounds like a skill issue.
@tinsano60303 ай бұрын
@@connor4961 when it costs more then 1k to fix rotted out outer & inner rockers, the floor pans for both sides of the cab, which isn't including labor, then a another 1k to rebuild the the back half of the frame from the back of the cab to the rear bumper also not including labor its considered beyond repair cause most people don't have or want to spend that kind of cash to rebuild a 20 year old rot box from the rust belt. I've rebuilt a couple dozen of these trucks, it's definitely not a skill issue.
