I am a widower and I have no pets. I tow my 2020 Flying Cloud with a 2004 1/2 ton Silverado V8. I have made three trips from Oregon to Florida. Any problems with the rig are something I do to it. I also fix what I break. I LOVE it and it fits me just fine. I am now a full time RV person with a home base in Florida. My rig has plenty of storage and I keep my kayak and fishing gear in the Silverado. The 25 footer with rear twin beds is just fine for a single male. It is worth more than I paid for it and I have no plans to sell it. Thanks for the video.

We bought a new Classic 30 in September of 21. Kept it for one year and sold it primarily due to the storage limitations mentioned . The shower was cramped and we had a lot of trouble with the electronic control panel. Had to travel over 8 hours to find a dealer that even had any experience servicing the panel. The first couple that looked at it bought it, so Airstreams still have a steady following. I do miss the Airstream mystique and owner exchanges of information which is second to none. I still nod at them when we approach one going by on the road. BTW, we purchased a gas class A and it has the storage we needed, but like most of the rvs being produced today, quality control at the plants is in short supply. If you’re buying a new rig, get it inspected by a certified inspector. It will cost $750-$1,000 but it’s probably the best money you’ll spend. Well done video Liz.

My husband and I have a 2022 28' Flying Cloud and we love it. We have not had any issues with storage at all. If we do need extra storage we just use the back of the truck that has a bed slide in it to make access much easier. Before our AS we had a 27' Class A that after the first time we took it out we were already talking trade. Even with 2 slides we were not as comfortable in it as we are in our AS. It is a keeper for us!

My dad had a Airstream trailer for over 60 years, it was never stored inside and never leaked a drop of water anywhere. That thing was built like a tank. He gutted the inside in the 90s to modernize it. Lots of great camping memories in that thing.

We just purchased an airstream in May of this year. We love it. Yes there are glitches with fixing things - but there is that with everything. It's easy to tow; I find lots of storage for us (couple with dog) and there is so many updates in it that others don't have. The living riveted (rather than staples) and the solid floor and cabinetry is amazing. But the best part is the customer service from our dealership in Ontario. @CanAmRV is a class in its own.

We just bought an Airstream Bambi 16 ft. We bought used 2011. It’s in perfect condition. We specifically wanted an Airstream bc no slides, great towing, nimble great for getting up going for weekends and longer. The ability to fit in small sites. We didn’t want anything big bc it’s not something we are looking to spend a lot of time inside of. It is absolutely perfect for us. It actually has quite a bit more storage then you would think. Plus the windows!! Comfort & quality can’t be beat. It will be our one & only.

When I was a kid my mom, for whatever reason, would just rail against Airstreams and call them ugly every time we saw one going down the road. Meanwhile we putted around with a 17' Mobile Traveler behind a 1974 AMC Matador station wagon- UGH! 🙂 Naturally I had a bias against Airstreams, but as I got older I really gained an appreciation for them. I love how they have remained relatively unchanged and hearken back to yesterdecade, but I am a nostalgic old soul at heart. If I am being honest though the lack of storage would wear on me. Good video!

We enjoyed your video. Well, we didn't have the money to purchase new or even one several years old. So we did find one that was close to us in Challis, Idaho. It's a 24' 1959 Tradewind, it had good bones, all the original cabinets. The man we bought it from had inherited it from his father who was the original owner. Anyway, after 5yrs of restoration and less than $20k and we have nearly brand new 1959 Airstream and love it. She has some character and blemish marks, but it's in great shape and really enjoy camping in it. Keep up the great work that you do Liz.

My wife and I have been traveling full time for 6 months in a 2018 27’ Flying Cloud FBQ and we love it. It has plenty of space for the two of us. We do use the truck bed for storage. We upgraded the batteries to 400amp hours of lithium with 800 watts of solar on the roof. This gives us plenty of flexibility to dry camp at state and national parks as well as BLM sites.

Hey Beautiful.. I always love your spunky, but business attitude. Airstreams are great looking and nostalgic Silver Bullets of days gone by of romantic glamour camping. They're just too small.. They're great for short periods of camping, but not at what they cost. If I'm going to spend $200k on a RV, it's going to be a lot bigger.. Have a great day..

Found a used 2008 Jayco Grey Hawk with only 7,100 miles. Near new condition. $35,000. No separate truck to own. Nothing to tow. No expensive solar panels and very expensive batteries. The way I see it, that buys a boatload of fuel, propane, etc. Lots of storage inside and out. I can put my motorcycle on a carrier on the back and go do what I want to do.

About 40 years ago, my family had a Silver-dome. The parents to the Airsteam now. If I could choose between the two? I would take the Silver-dome hands down. Hey girl, Gary from Kansas here. Nice video about Airstreams. I agree, I don't think I would want one. I heard they are made well and the bottom is completely sealed, keeping out rodents. When we were in Santa Fe last month, a gentleman pulled up next to our spot in a brand new one that he picked up the day before in Phoenix. It was his first night camping in it. It looked pretty, but I agree that it looks like space is a problem. He was in a rush to head back to Kansas City, so I didn't get to have a tour of it. I have to say that you have one beautiful motorhome. I love the space you have inside! And the doors are awesome!! Anyway, as I always tell you, keep these awesome videos coming and stay safe! Looking forward to next Friday when you come out with a new video!!

Airstream and Harley- Davidson, in a class of their own? A long time ago, around 1981 I had a conversation with a man that was in a KOA campground. At the time I was in a small Layton RV and new to the full time RV world. He had a large motorhome, a diseal pusher. He was much older than I. He told me the story about a couple that he had met. The people that he was referring to had been full time RV' ing and was complaining about people that owned Airstreams. "They are snobs, they think that they are better than the rest of us." The funny thing Is that they ended up purchasing an Airstream trailer and became the epitomy of the very people they once despised. Constantly bragging about their Airstream and thumbing their nose at everyone else.I am not saying that everyone that owners an Airstream is like that; I am confident in believing that there are plenty of good people to go around regardless of what you own. So what does this have to do with Harley Davidson motor cycles? I have always been a fan of Honda motorcycles, I do not fit the profile of the Hell's Angle's trouble maker image; I just like riding big bikes. Wel,l I had parked my Honda next to a bunch of Harley Davidson bikes and had a bite to eat with my girlfriend. When we were done and left I saw that my bike was laying down. There was a note on it " Dont Park a Honda Next to Harley Davidson's" At first I was steaming mad, but I was not about to go to the hospital over it! A few minutes later I thought it was rather funny. Whoever put my bike on the ground took their time and did not simply shove it over. They placed a large bleach blanket on the ground and gently laid it down. Okay, I get it. Stuck up, maybe? I respect the Harley guys. Thanks for the free blanket.

This summer I went to an RV dealer to buy a part at the store. I decided to browse trailers. I looked at a new Rockwood, and saw the bedroom slide door track was broke and the door was off. When I looked to see how it was broke I noticed the trim to hide the track that was made to look like wood was just pressed paper. Not impressed. I looked at some others of various brands and they were fine. Then I toured a couple of Airstreams and immediately I could see the superior level of quality! Everything in there was far and away better. Better materials, better built. I could never afford a new one but if I could I would definitely get one. I think they're worth it.

I have a 27 foot 2009 Flying Cloud and Ive been living in it sence 2014 I work Industrial construction so I travel all over the United States it hasn't gave me any trouble I keep up with regular maintenance the roof mainly I love to Boon Dock between jobs or when traveling from one job to the next it hold the heat well in a Chicago winter or Salt Lake winter below Zero the summer heat can be a little over welming at the peak of the day Down South it helps to be in the shade of a pine, Oak, or Eucalyptus Tree I happy with my trailer and the thought of buying another one has cross my mine but than I just up grade certain accessories wash and wax it and it looks just the new models and the rv parks can't tell by looking at it what year it is they just complement and confirm my reservation

If I had the money the choice would be between the Oliver Legacy Elite 2 and an Airstream of similar 23 feet length, probably going with the Oliver, because it's lighter a more storage.

Also - here is the thing full timer rv folks and this new wave of thinking ALL these are potential homes, they aren’t. 500lbs in the trailer is plenty because it’s for a weekend or a couple taking a few weeks to a month to go around here and there, not a full time rig

Some AC units are fine for cooler climates. If traveling to an arid climate more capacity can be added.. Notice on the typical class a 2 ac units . On a touring coach you will see up to 5 ac units... travel as needed just realise you're ac capacity.

Not a lot here about why Airstreams are so expensive mainly just pros and cons. I get that their method of building a trailer is a lot more expensive. But I don’t but that it’s actually a 4x multiple even including better quality cabinetry etc. If an Airstream is what you want then it is what it is. Live the dream. But there is no possible argument that can be made to show they are worth the price premium they command.

The models above the Caravel are 101” wide. That’s part of the reason for getting away with no slide. It’s also one thing less to break. Lack of storage can be a problem. The solution would be to have less stuff. They are definitely the coolest looking trailer out there. The aluminum skin is sera coated which makes for less maintenance. If you travel east of the Rockies the frequent hail storms can destroy your trailer. I full time in a small trailer (Winnebago micro mini) and it has a lot more storage. Are Airstreams worth twice as much as a laminated wall travel trailer? They certainly look good!

This is not intended to be a negative reply; but just my 2 cents... We've rv'd for 45+ years. In that time we've had numerous sizes & types of rigs due to economics, family size, & personal choices. Now back full circle to just the 2 of us. I've admired Airstreams for years but kept away due to the limitations you mentioned in this video. Yes; I will grant you they are iconic, well built (although I am hearing & know the newer ones are having issues) & aerodynamic. The accountant in me is not sure about their statement about depreciation. Yes, they sell for a lot used, but you also pay a lot for them new. Percentage wise, my bet is it may be about the same percentage depreciation. We sold our last RV in what turns out to be the peak of the market ~2 yrs ago. Things were / are different as markets change. We also paid a lot more for a new one. If we were just weekend warriors , I may seriously consider one, but the lack of space & storage make our monthly 1 week outing and yearly 4-6 week outing too difficult. The lack of being able to have guests spend some comfortable time is as well.Sure, we could adjust but we don't wish to. But heck; if you want one, and you can afford one... get one!

The age ol problem of the airstream is the lack of comfort in the event of a rainy day or a cool evening...you have the booth table which has all of the comfort of a school bus. if you don't want to lay in bed no comfy landing spot

Air stream is the best way to travel and as far as living full time I would recommend you buy a big 5th wheel and park it somewhere for long periods but if you’re into lots of miles and boondocking then go with the air stream we will never own anything different we don’t need a ton of space when we are traveling just the basic creature comforts large trailers costs more money to move around that’s why air stream is so valuable it pulls really easy with less fuel

Great video Liz. My opinion only here. While they do have a "cool" factor, that doesn't help me with the price factor. I've been in several over the last few decades and was never impressed. For me, I have a tall factor and always felt confined in one, especially in the shower or ducking the AC. While I could afford one, I've never been a fan, so nope. Stay healthy and safe out there.

I did a video about the supposed "ten year rule." Very few campgrounds have this rule, the ones that do just want a photo to confirm your RV is not held together by duct tape. It's really a non issue as there are so many high end Class As out there that are super clean and beautiful- but well over ten years old. Thanks for asking!

Not sure how she gets any of her info but the UVW includes propane tanks and batteries. Fill up your fresh tank and that doesn’t go toward the UVW - it will minus your capacity - the propane tanks full and the 2 batteries do not count toward your net cargo - never have. Those have been standard for decades

Airstream ACs are industry standard. If it fails in an Airstream, it will fail in other RVs. To answer if an Airstream is worth it, you need to ask people who have owned non-Airstream RVs also. I have owned RVs of most price ranges, toy haulers, Pop-ups, travel trailers w/wo slides and Class A motorhomes. I've had $140k RVs fall apart in less than a month. I've had $15k RVs last years. So far the Airstream has been less stressful than any other RV I have owned. Does that make it worth the money? So far yes.

I suddenly had to face a reverse scenario. I am 66 years old and my mother is 89; in the last three years, she has developed some form of dementia. I found myself having to do the cooking and cleaning. I learned that I had better get a system where we had to eat healthily, use a minimum amount of dishes, and avoid a lot of clean-up time. Just as a side note, I am not at all dependent on my mother, I am self-sufficient. I only want to help Mother. Anyway, as a full-time RV'er, you most likely face the same problem. How to eat healthy without having to spend all day in the kitchen. The hashbrowns video was great., Perhaps you may consider making a few video's on your cooking, people love food and recipes; I'm sure they would love for you to share some of your or perhaps some of your fan's recipes, on video. Once in a while, it could be a disaster, hey, that's part of the surprise ending! Have your audience take a vote by ringing the bell and thumbs up or down. Good Day to you!
