The lecture was delivered this past Thursday night in Agerola, Italy on the Amalfi coast to a group of students who dedicated the week exploring Jewish history in the region, with a special focus on the unique innovations of Italian sages and Kabbalists.

So happy to learn that us, European followers, had that privilege to be under the same sky with our dear Rav. I hope Sparks over here welcomed you in a delightful manner. I read a portion of Da'at Tevunoth and it captured my heart immediately. I would love to read Luzzatto's poetry but unfortunately have no idea where to find it Wishing everyone good peaceful and inspiring days 💙

Thank you Rabbi Pinson for your amazing discernments of how we create the possibility of transforming our back to back relationships with the Hashem and others to face to face relationships. How to do this with Hashem seems clear. The question is how do we get the others to agree to this possibility or do we accept a face to back relationship?

I wish I was aware of your trip to Italy. I would have made it a destination point for studying the Jewish community in Italy with you and your group. As an Italian American whose family I brought back to Judaism I would have loved to be there with your group. We met at the Chabad on Long Island. I was sponsoring your talk there twice. In any event, it took years to accomplish my mission to return my Sicilian family maternal and Paternal were entangled in the Spanish inquisition and fled Spain and eventually went to Sicily in the 1500s. I have the names and their punishments of the family members in the 1530-60 from the Palermo Inquisition. The church at that time had kept lists of those who converted to Catholicism and yet were still practicing Judaism in secret. Many over 30 of my Russo maternal family were killed many were killed by being burned at the stake. Anyway after decades of studying and research with the help of a genealogist from sicily whose family were jewish and were also killed. He personally went back to Palermo and was able to take photos of births, baptisms and marriages... my roots in various towns was researched and was wonderful to learn about my ancestors. ..... and when presented to the Beit Din (Rabbi Ullman Australia) he accepted my Jewish roots and said I was a jew. As a result of my MTdna and the genealogist research, I think I may of gathered some sparks from Sicily. Mostly because I am one of the very few who pursued this goal regarding lost Jews from Sicily and bringing them back to Judaism. If you ever have a trip going back to Italy at some point please contact me and let me know. it would be a perfect way to understand Italy and Judaism through the lens of your understanding of how important Italian Jews was to the Italians.
