You gotta remember that wasn't like the "real" joker. If anything that's where Arkham Knight got the idea to have ppl turn into Joker. I forgot which Robin it was but whichever one that got chipped was no different than the joker clones in Knight. My head canon, those that know Joker or came in different contact him without the extra DNA stuff still gets changed someway because Joker attacks your psyche. So for his blood being an agent to cause a chemical imbalance but him attacking your psyche is planting seeds in a way, his way thinking stays with a person and once under the influence of some type control from him. That's why Batman (AK) and Tim (Beyond Movie) are almost identical to him when corrupted because they spent the most time with him. @@TariqTheGuy

As a computer chip to carry the soul of a super villain, it simply ran into a error it could not understand because no one ever told Joker a joke. 2. In the flashback when Robin killed Joker, he laughed. I think that also triggered him because the last time he died someone laughed him. Not taking him serious with him saying thats not the funny. With the trauma of the host and the mental insanity of the Joker chip, him going ape shit makes absolutely the most sense to a imperfect Joker

The thing is about Spider-Man is that unlike Bruce, he knows when to put an end to a threat. While yes, he will go out his way to help his rogues gallery, but THAT'S only due to certain circumstances. Such as Norman being a schizophrenic victim of his own creation a.k.a the goblin serum, Lizard? You name it. But if Spidey comes across a character like the Joker who he sees as a legitimate threat who will continuously break out and wreak havoc he will not hesitate to put him down like a dog. He's done this plenty of times, and attempted to do it on his own "Daughter" Itzy Bitzy. That's what I love about him. Because a hero will do anything to save as many lives as he can even if it means to temporarily throw away his pride and or ideals.

I think that misunderstands Peter a bit. 90% of the time, Peter is against no killing. He literally holds the entire superhero community accountable when they go over that line. Hell, when Peter accidentally killer someone it stuck with him for years, referring to that time in Berlin. When Daredevil killed someone in Devils Reign, he told Matt he was done and if he catches him out again doing this shit. He's bringing him in. Peter being occasionally down for it is only a thing that's come around recently of modern day comics. He won't even kill the Goblin even though he wants Hell, he blows up on Jonah when he asks why he didn't kill Sandman when the dude was dying

Not only would Joker hate fighting Spider-man, as we can see from Any time he's fought more quippy heroes but if Joker did one of his worse stunts, he would die, plain and simple, not because he broke Peter but because Spider-man doesn’t Have a no killing rule, he simply Hates killing. The problem with putting Joker in Marvel is NYC isn't just Spidey's home, it belongs to people like Moon Knight and Punisher who wouldn't hesitate to kill Joker. Plus there was a Batman/Spider-Man cross over comic where Spidey actually says he wanted to kill Joker and considered it after witnessing his disregard for human life and in this case it was ironically Joker who talked Spider-Man out of killing him. I believe he also said "I know someone who I would let kill you if he was here" in referring to The Punisher so yeah Joker wouldn't survive in Marvel for more then a day if he was there. I also remember a Batman/Punisher cross over where Joker got terrified of Punisher and had to beg Batman to save him as he didn't think Frank was serious about killing him.

The Joker would struggle as a Spider-Man villain much more than as a Batman villain. If Joker tried something, the Green Goblin would've already tried it with greater success due to his superior strength, higher access to resources and even political power. Spider-Man had way too many bad days for Joker to be able to break him. Joker would be a nuisance at worst to Peter. Spider-Man wouldnt even allow the joker gas to do something to him as he has really good reaction time and spider-sense. Spider-Man is just built different

I think the biggest problem with this topic is trying to make characters play by the joker's rules. Spider-Man's no killing rule is not the same as Batman's. Sure, Spider-Man doesn't kill but he doesn't kill simply because he does not want to. It is not as pathological as Bruces's who implies that if he crosses that line that he would not come back. Spider-Man has killed before and regretted it but it's not like he immediately became Assassin Spider-Man, he is still the same character all around. Even in stories where he does think he is responsible for deaths like Green Goblin in the Mayday comics, Green Goblin in the Ultimate comics (before Miles) and Venom in the original Renew Your Vows, Peter moves on. He definitely is not broken, just remorseful. This question fits someone like Daredevil more. Also I completely disagree on Joker being above kingpin in the criminal underworld as KingPin just has way better feats and showings. Joker maybe struggles taking control of Gotham, a city in which only Batman characters operate but KingPin has had a strong hold in NYC and more which is a city in which more homes and players operate. Spider-Man has twisted villains like Green Goblin and Carnage Difference being is that him and Batman's mentality is different. Joker could kill his adoptive son, paralyze Barbara and while still be pissed and tempted Bruce would still let him live. However Kingpin could cause Aunt May to be injured, Kraven could go after the spider family and Spider-Man will go berserk. People keep trying to make Peter play by Batman's standards despite them being different, obviously the answer will be different Spider-Man is the anti joker. Peter is a man that has too many bad days but is still a hero. I mean just look at Peter in Spider-Man 2 film and at joker in the Joker film, both are men that are down on their luck, struggling financially and with society putting them down, but only one of them becomes a mass murderer. Even in the comics, Green Goblin killed Gwen, cause MJ's miscarriage, caused the death of Flash and so on but Peter doesn't break. Also Mysterio>Joker

Pardon the long reply, hope you don't mind. Spidey isn't as philosophical about killing as Batman, but Joker would probably lean into that. Joker can and has switched his manipulation tactics up for different targets, like Harley and Jim Gordon (granted, he didn't succeed with Gordon). Joker would know Spidey isn't the same as Batman and may not care as much about breaking him, but he'd probably still give it the college try and probably get closer than Norman has. If Joker got his hands on one of Spider-Man's loved ones, I could see him broadcasting a threat to Spidey that he wants 12 villains dead by the end of the day or Aunt May or Harry or whoever loses a foot and escalates until they're just a torso that he tortures rather than kills. Spidey is smart, be he's also more emotional than Batman and is more prone to breaking his own rules than Batman; not that he'd start killing as a first result, but Spidey has a hard enough time finding less deranged villains and Joker is very good at hiding when he wants to and I'm gonna guess that if the Justice League can't find him most of the time, neither can Marvel's heroes. Whether or not Joker is as ceremonial about not looking into Spidey's identity as Batman's is a point to consider but, if he just sees Spider-Man as an annoying kid with too much pep in his step the way he saw Gordon as a clueless goody-good (rather than how Batman genuinely confounds him), he may not hesitate to learn who Spider-Man is...Granted, I don't see him getting enough interest in Spidey without losing a few rounds first, but Joker is also the type to use strategic losses to manipulate enemies he know won't kill him. This time measuring Spidey would likely expose Joker to Daredevil and Daredevil is definitely much more similar to Batman than Spidey is, but I think Joker may not find him interesting; Batman is someone who sees the world as Joker does but never kills for some reason while Daredevil is as simple as, "Is Catholic, won't kill," which might not intrigue Joker as much for being so explicable (granted, Matt's faith would definitely generate a lot of insults from Joker and I'm sure he'd fight him at least once). The Kingpin bit sounds good on the surface, but I don't know if Kingpin has as much competition in NYC as Joker has in Gotham. Gotham's criminal leaders are all on equal footing, whereas anyone in NYC who isn't Kingpin is often seen as second-place and Joker was previously part of the generation that routed the Falconés, Maronis and other crime lords more similar to Kingpin than Joker's contemporaries he currently struggles with. I'm also tempted to say that the heroes Kingpin contends with aren't that much more diverse or numerous than the Bat Family, since the X-Men, Avengers and Fantastic Four are normally off somewhere else despite living near or in the city, leaving Fisk with mostly Spider-Man, Daredevil and, more recently, Spider-Man's elseworld counterparts. Definitely not accurate to say Joker would clean-sweep NYC, but I could see him carving out a big chunk for himself, bigger than the likes of Tombstone or Silvermane (for those times where Silvermane isn't dead, anyway). Spidey is definitely the Anti-Joker, though. If Joker were to learn this (which would probably only be possible by learning he's Peter Parker), that might give him all the motivation he needs to get as hung up on Spidey as he currently is on Batman. Spidey may be more upbeat than Batman, but anything happening to Aunt May will likely drive him to kill and maybe even make him blunter in the foreseeable future, he also already considers killing on a regular basis (even if more emphasized in recent stories than older ones) and he has a history of getting fed up with society and either teetering on the edge or just deciding to quit being Spider-Man...Joker may not even get Spidey to kill regularly but just give up being a hero altogether, which is as sacred to him as not killing is to Batman (even if retirement isn't Joker's intended endgame). I joke, but also, "Working with Gasses that DON'T Get Yourself Killed" > Mysterio.

@@seantaylor424 There are a lot of things I disagree about these arguments. First one bing that Joker can even do these things to begin with. Joker when he goes to other cities or faces other heroes usually gets negged pretty fast. There is even a story where he tries to start beef with Flash but it doesn't go well and Joker just gives up. It isn't until more recent stories where joker has been given the prep time treatment where he is ability to do things such as outsmart Lex Luther and take down the team. The reason I bring this up is that if you are gonna do these assumptions to Joker then what you do to one side you have to do with the other as Spider-Man characters and villains also have similar feats such as Norman Osborn when he was Iron Patriot and lead the Thunderbolts. Also Spider-Man himself would not have much trouble finding people as his spider sense pretty much tells him what is happening around him, it doesn't just alert him of danger. Even if you want to downplay that ability, you would also have to do the same for Batman and Joker. I just do not see Joker being able to do much to him without plot armor. Joker may be more deranged than some spider-man villains sure but he also isn't as powerful or even as smart as some either, so he wouldn't have the chance to capitalize on that if he can't do much. Also downplaying Kingpin saying he doesn't have much competition is absurd as pretty much every major villain that wants power is competition to him. He even has the aids of sorcerers and even Doctor Doom struggles agains't him. Even characters like hammerhead had armies of goons with advanced laser weaponry and he wasn't considered much of a threat to him and this was back in the 70s. If Kingpin can't get to him outside of stories where Peter himself gives up his ID then I don't see joker doing it. Outside of Injustice, and more modern stories, joker doesn't have that many great feats that involve characters outside of Batman that don't have some easily exploitable weaknesses. Daredevil would definitely kill joker too, I mean Batman has almost done it too but Joker only scrapped by cause of plot armor which will not be granted here. Joker is going to have more fierce competition. Joker is smart but if you wanna say that he could outsmart most mob bosses in Marvel then you're just downplaying marvel street tiers in general.

@@1992holycrap I'm not so sure, considering how many times Spidey got tripped up by Black Cat's tricks, how he consistently has legitimate threats from mostly-normal people like Vulture, keeps getting fooled by Mysterio despite his Spider-Sense and how pre-Carnage Cletus Kassidy(sp?) racked up a body-count while not even being as smart or creative as Joker. What I see happening is Joker trolling Spider-Man by leaving dead bodies with mean jokes stapled to them for Spidey to find (or maybe New York's heroes in general and this story's just focusing on Webhead), Spidey considers it the last straw with all of the other crap he has going on in his life but looking for the Joker only has him run into Rhino or someone else he wasn't ready for and getting thrashed; the cherry on top being that Rhino/etc wasn't even involved with Joker.

Prewatch compentary: *Spider-Man already deals with Green Goblin who does far more messed up personal crap then Joker. *As seen in Batman Beyond, Joker's weakness is someone making jokes of him like Batman Beyond did. Spider-Man, having the same personality as Batman Beyond would do that. *Spider-Man's Spider Sense would ruin Joker's traps. *Spider-Man's strength would ruin Joker's fights. *Weirdly, in Marvel and DC crossovers, Joker is genuinely pretty friendly with Spider-Man. When he mistook Ben Reily for Peter Parker he was (one-sided) pretty buddy-buddy with him as if he was seeing an old friend and basically just left him alone after catching up with what he's been upto. Alright, time to watch the video. I'll probably add in more thoughts post watch. Yeah, I still can't see Joker being a threat to Spider-Man especially after reading the crossover comics.

the one issue with this is that if the Joker learned about Spiderman's backstory it would break his philosophy of just one bad day as Spiderman's life is just one bad day after another bad day. Also Spider man's no kill rule is not as ironclad as batman's and then with the way the joker is he'd get the attention of the avengers. If you look at the daredevil comic where Kingpin is going after him, he sends in Nuke and in 10 seconds flat the man gets the avengers to show up because of how much damage he's done. The Joker would get the attention of the avengers and everyone else really damn fast. Hell the Punisher would make Joker his number one target.
