There's K-Pop Shock, too, Reporter Kim. There's a lot less English from him, usually just his subtitles, but he's a journalist with connections in the music industry and he is very reliable- and a genuine Diamond. He doesn't subtitle his entire hour-plus streams, but he does summarize them for the Internationals, and he always subs his shorter ones. To be fair, he did get quite agitated about how his fellow media were treating Suga during the Scooter Incident; we'd never seen him wave his arms around like that before, and his language was apparently pretty emphatic. But most of the time he maintains a pretty professional attitude.

I've gone so far as to just block other sites from my KZbin feed so I don't get sucked into all the nonsense that's out there. They cut and paste, do no research, just keep talking about anything negative it seems like with no facts to back it up. Life's too short for all that stuff! I'm more critical of the politicians that gave a stage and way-too-much time and attention to a nonissue than the journalists trying to sell newspapers. It has always been the problem with the news. They focus on what would be interesting, not what is important. It sounds like in S. Korea, workplace deaths happen way too often that they have become background noise, but a popstar going to the Assembly, that's novel and therefore interesting. Even mainstream media over here covered it. I don't think there's any fixing it. I know you're tired of talking about MHJ and her machinations. It is very sad that the S.Korean people have to depend on the National Assembly to audit, bring to account Companys that aren't protecting their workers sufficiently. It could be blatantly said the National Assembly instead skimmed over serious issues, giving little time to audit and inquire about the safety factors that lead to injury and the passing of more than few workers ~ instead gave an hour to an unsubstantiated claim of "bullying" by Hanni Pham. So shameful and sad.....an insult to S. Korea citizenry and to those who uphold safe work environments...😔

Looking at this MHJ vs Hybe conflict in the context of the global music industry, one has to ask how significant is MHJ/NJ contribution & influence? How quickly can they be replaced? I’m wondering what MHJ is currently doing. Is she actually working for Hybe e.g. working with NJ on any new projects or is she just chilling? I mean, she must be, else Hybe could fire her for not fulfilling her work obligations, no? I find it truly baffling how she has so much time on her hands to continuously come up with new stuff to stir things up.

The Hanni situation was prioritized because Kakao is trying to break into entertainment and needs Hybe down to do so - MHJ and NJ literally opened up new offices right next to Kakao, and Kakao was a big financial player / backer for her in her attempt to takeover ADOR. They’re all bought and paid for by Kakao.

It's not that HYBE won't compel the shareholders to vote for MHJ, it's that they legally cannot. Either HYBE has the right to dismiss MHJ as the CEO or it does not have the right to appoint her either. In the first injunction the courts ruled that HYBE does not have the right to interfere in Ador's affairs. So now they cannot tell the shareholders of Ador what to do either. The clause is legally unenforceable and MHJ's side made sure of that in the first injunction by insisting that HYBE is a separate entity. Have patience, HYBE is not careless. Even if it takes more time, they are doing things correctly. MHJ did not lose to give HYBE some kind of chance. She wanted to take an opportunity to harass HYBE even if she knew she was likely to lose. She is blackmailing them by basically saying that she's going to harass them till they give her what she wants.

I personally have never had a rosy picture of S Korea irrespective of how well known it has become in past dacade. While it is true that there are some great food, technology and fashion exports, the country itself has a lot of problems. Same as most other countries. Not very friendly to people of other Asian countries, too cold, bad terrain, too much corruption in govt agencies etc. The very polished image kpop and entertainment had presented made it fantastic to international audience about how great it is. But this situation is putting out all the systemic flaws only seen in a few exaggerated kdramas very blatantly to the international audience, because their fav stars are involved. And now they realize that S Korea is the same as many other corrupt countries. They aren't flawless.

If the legal paths are closed to her, she will surely go down the illegal ones including direct and malicious attacks on BTS., which she already started with V and Suga as her preliminary targets. Only if she loses the shareholder agreement lawsuit, might she consider stopping, as her ability to pay all her lawyers and stooges will be seriously impaired. And as for SM and Kakao, they will need to be more surreptitious in their support for her so she doesn’t drag them all down with her.

Shocking to see the gov't spent more time on Hanni/Ador vs. serious labour issues. A lot of governments have crazy/weird sessions. I guess they weren't too concerned how they look to everyday Korean citizens. If I were the public, I would demand another hearing (given the stats in the MBC program). Corporations get away with too much. I was wondering if MHJ signed her contract. I'm surprised you haven't heard anything as a shareholder. I've been tempted many times to open a MHJ parody account. Thank you for the updates on MHJ and Hybe matter. This audit review is so gross and bias towards Hybe. These politicians should be embarrassed with the way they conduct themselves, they need to stop wasting the tax payers money and work on important issues as mentioned on the article. HYBE really need to get rid off MHJ and NJ completely for the sake of their artists. I understand why they are putting up with all these nonsense but at some point HYBE needs to be more aggressive on protecting themselves. I truly hope this is the beginning of the media waking up from its fever dream and looking critically at these events. It would be even better if a solid, unbiased investigative journalist dug into this whole mess and outed MHJ's financial backers and the extremely shady dealings she's had in her takeover attempt. I want Hybe to win this because I believe they are the victims of a malicious attack, and not the perpetrators. The level of people taking MHJ's side is unbelievable and I know there's a fantastic exposé to be written there. I'm not afraid to say I want Hybe to prosper. The members are proud of what was accomplished with their blood, sweat, and tears. And I truly believe that Hybe is trying in good faith to be a better kind of entertainment company. Conspiracy theories and fanfiction are all their detractors have. Companies are made up of individual human beings, and by nature, will make mistakes. It's whether they are genuinely trying to move with integrity that interests me.
