People need to realize the Texans, Bills, Ravens, Lions and Commanders are all ran by defensive head coaches. Vrabel simply has to nail his offensive coordinator. McDaniels might actually be the safest hire. McDaniels is never getting another head coaching job so don't have to worry about him leaving.

i would never want Mayo back, he had no clue, made ne effort, never took accountability and went from LB coach to HC, threw everyone under the bus, blamed front office, blamed AVP, His first action was to promote DeMarcus Covington to DC over Steve Bellicheck who designed the D into top ten D in NFL for 3 years..to promote a waterboy, and attempted to demote Steve, who was a better coach than either of them put together! This forced Steve to quit and rebuild University of Washington defense..and you lose Steve, the defense crumbled under Covington, and a lot of players especially on defense wanted out, The team quit for lack of leadership...and the fans left in droves....and you want him back? He got 3 million dollars for his gift

At what point is a man responsible for knowing his own limits? Mayo didn't have the experience, the connections, or simply put... the ability to rebuild a team. He was handed his coaching positions based on his name as a player. He apparently thought a "CEO HC," and a "player's coach" just needed to set schedules and talk in front of the press. He wanted AVP to handle the O, Covington to handle the D, etc. He failed to put his fingerprints on HIS team. He failed to set limits for his players. Ultimately his flaws as a new inexperienced coach, playing as a HC, allowed this very young team to behave however they pleased and that bled onto the field. Mayo allowed his players to entirely dictate too much of the team. He wanted to be liked by the players. He should have been worried about respect. If you players RESPECT you, you will BECOME a "player's coach."

Mayo got the shaft. The pats were competitive and beat some good teams and should have beats the bills. Reason I believe this happened is because the Jets were going to hire him. As soon as he interviewed for the Jets Kraft said screw that - and stole another coach from the Jets

Competetive? Against who lmfao! They were the worst team in the NFL this season with a dumb ass who won a game he was clearly supposed to lose. If you don't have the situation awareness enough to know your supposed to lose and get the #1 pick your clearly incompetent. That pick could have been multiple 1st round picks. Mayo was a DEI hire he cared more about people's skin color than he did who was the best for the role
