Why The Model 1887 Needs A Nerf.

for every1 saying the model doesnt need a nerf, yes it does. embark has nerfed the rifles into a place where the model is the only gun shining on the medium class right now but that doesn't mean anything when the gun itself is a mini rpg. In team fights it demolishes, 128 per shot + 40 for a melee, you can 1 tap a light, 2 tap a medium and 3 tap a heavy the damage is outrageous. Personally all I think it needs is a dmg drop to 107-108, so a light can survive a full pump + a melee and be left 1 hp, same with medium u can take 2 model shoots but if u throw in a melee they'll still die in 2 shots if that melee hits, not just like rn where u die in 2 shots, so everybody please im on yalls side i hate that they nerf all the good guns but the model is too good and needs to be brought down and the rifles need to be buffed so they're all balanced.

sounds like a typical crying light. legit is the only weapon we have against that class accompanied with a glitch trap. range is ridiculous yes, but the dmg is fine as it’s a SHOTGUN. they should stop nerfing as much and get the TTK back to where it was. not OP, just the only medium weapon aside from the trash revolver that hasn’t been touched.

@g_rdon a shotgun like the model SHOULD be somewhat viable in mid range, best in close and shit at far range where the ak, Fcar, ect are better at. What makes the model balanced is the fact that it forces the player in close to mid range and punishes you when you miss HEAVYILY due to the reload. Hope this helps

I think one of the resounding issues when it comes to balancing weapons based on player feedback is the massive skill range between the worst and the best players. The devs have to look at statistics, sure, but their main goal in weapon balancing is to find the middle ground between risk, reward, and skill requirements. The 1886 has the best and most lethal burst potential in the game (second only to a double barrel light coming in for a hug), and benefits from players who have mastered movement in the finals and can benefit from minimal slowing while firing the weapon. Compared to other weapons, its time to kill is somewhere in the middle. People complain about the weapon when they see 128 dmg per instance, while ignoring the simple but brutal downsides of the weapon: it is extremely unforgiving. It’s impossible to reliably top off the weapon above 0 shots as the reload animation of catching and placing the unspent shell is almost as long as reloading the entire weapon. Lastly, every missed shot with the weapon is another half second the enemy has filling you with bullets or shanking your coin-laden body! When you’re landing all of your shots, every gun can look OP, even the 93R 😂

A lot of people are pointing out that the model's being used a lot because it's the only gun on medium that hasn't been nerfed since launch and that's only one of the two reasons it's gotten so popular, the other reason is the same reason Season 1 Fcar wasn't over powered in the betas and nor was the 165 damage RPG but 140 damage RPGs are a problem now, the community as a whole has gotten better at the game over time. The Fcar and RPGs took a lot less skill but the community quickly rose to the average skill level to exploit their strengths in combat, it took three seasons for the 1887 to reach that point, an example of this is when the Fcar was first nerfed the 1887 still wasn't a problem, then people began to use a mix of it and the AKM. HOWEVER as the only weapon viable in Ranked TA in medium's kit after the CL-40 was butchered people began to pick it up and get experience with the model 1887 and as a community rose to the average skill level where they can exploit the power of the 1887. the 1887 would've been this much of a problem in season 1 if people were as good with it now as they were back then. The 1887 does indeed, need two nerfs in particular, it needs -1 damage per pellet for a damage of 120 instead of 128 and needs it's minimum damage at range reduced to prevent it from being a mid ranged beast as it currently is.

im down for nerfing this one, if light class gets nerfs as well across the board. Light have too many OP stuff: Stun Gun, Glitch Grenade, Vanishing Bomb, Sonar Grenade, SH1900, throwing knifes, sword, XP-54, V95, SR-84, dash, invisibility, other weapons and gadgets being really good as well, Stabbing knife will get a huge buff in S4 and LH1 will have a proper scope. 1887 is literally just taste of own medicine for Light mains.

Nerf everything ig, model is supposed to be great up close and should deal damage from a distance. Not a lot but it should be able to apply pressure. It will always get outbeamed by a AK or Fcar from that range. I would much rather see other weapons get a buff than just nerfing everything. Although , everyone does just have their opinion on how slow or fast the game can be.

90% of fights are within 10m. You literally can't compete against it on most cashout points. t's 130dmg/shot. It has absurd range as well. It's also one of the easiest guns to use. Almost no tech needed to roll fights with it. It's pretty much a 6 shot RPG

as a heavy solo main, hard stuck platinum because i only use melee weapons, shotgun users hurt me a little bit, but are nowhere near as bad as lights with any weapon and dash light class can literally just5 zone me and win every single time in fact, im not playing the finals rn because im tired of L L L triple stack teams and quitters. ruins the fun.

For all the model crutches who don’t want this thing nerfed lemme put this into perspective. The model is able to kill two heavy’s or 6 lights. You can completely whiff 3 shots and still kill a heavy up close. And because this thing doesn’t have much damage drop off it’s easily a viable mid range weapon… shotguns are not meant to be mid range weapons. I’d recommend increasing the damage drop off or decreasing ammo count or a little bit of both.

I think this is kinda a stupid argument also false. Lights have 150 health and the model does 128 max 6 shots = 3 Light kills 6 Shots = 3 Medium Kills 6 Shots = 2.19 Heavy kills The Model has the second worst dps from the Medium weapons and the worst ttk on lights. The weapon is good but I would not call it op. Also I know this isn't realife but Shotguns shoot that far. I don't think it should be nerfed but the only acceptable nerf for this gun is a range nerf. Also if we are at it throwing numbers out that seem really bad but don't say anything SR-84 can kill 6 lights or 3 heavys AKM can kill 7,4 lights or 3.1 Heavys M60 can kill 16.3 lights or 7 heavys All these weapons seem to be op if you look it like that

Also despite me being incorrect about the light kill amounts, the gun still has an overkill damage per shot for how much range and ammo it has on top of the fact that it’s a shotgun witch makes it even more forgiving . And on top on top of that weapons like shotguns allow people to deal damage and return to cover so the enemy barely has a chance to return damage. Ps: weapons like the ones you listed are still balanced because they either have recoil, or require an unconventional play style. Those weapons still aren’t as forgiving as the model.
