Flagg has more pro-ready body than Bates. He also plays the other phases of the game outside of scoring: passing, on court awareness & leadership, one-on-one defense, team defense, and understands floor balance. College will always help a kid. I've seen two guys at his size pass like that...Magic and Bird. Having said that, I hope that Atlanta pick hits for the Spurs. Wemby and Flagg protecting the paint? I'm in. As for how he'll do, the unspoken and overlooked thing is that his parents are still together. His brothers are apparently decent kids. Mindset, work ethic, humility, and so much else are affected by the people around him. Maybe his talent doesn't translate, maybe he can't make it. But, I think, he won't be one of these kids that wastes his opportunity. I don't think he's going to waste his money and time in the bars, strip clubs, and police trouble like so many young stars. That's one of the things I love about Wemby. All these ex-NBA guys that think Wemby is going to want to go to a big market team fundamentally don't understand him and his mindset. Wemby wants to win. I think Flagg is going to be the same.

So he won't be intimidated, won't cower or back down. He's got all the skills, and seemingly doesn't take it for granted like Zion. If he applies himself, he'll be a perennial all star...
