Thank you for a great overview video. I actually own the same cursive typeface typewriter, built in 1967, according to its serial number. I do love the typeface and typing on this machine. Would you consider doing one of your overview videos for an Olivetti Studio 44?

Yes, the bell will ring when reaching the end of a line, as set by the margin stop.

I find with mine that it does not go clickety clack but more of a thump with the keys. Is this right? I think it is quiet but the keys take some thumping down?

Hi, the Olympia Traveller de Luxe is usually a very light touch typewriter to use when in good order, you shouldn't have to thump the keys on one of these machines. It is hard to diagnose without physically seeing a machine, but might be worth checking...is the touch adjustment lever (little lever with +/- under the lid on the right hand side) set to minus or plus? These machines can be adjusted for a lighter or heavier touch via this spring. A common cause of stiff feeling keys is dust/dirt build up in the typebar segment, this can make an action feel heavier/sluggish, a flush with spirits and working each key repeatedly can help clear this.

@@Francis-Wren Hi and thanks. I have learnt a lot in 24 hrs. I oiled the segments!! That was a bad mistake. I have now cleared all the oil with 150 psi compressed air and worked in rubbing alcohol. It is a LOT better and acts as though " it wants to type?" The action is a lot better and yes I have the little lever to minus. Would you say it is a high end portable machine? As good as Olivetti lettera 32/32? Olympia SM 9? I just want a general opinion. Thank you so much for getting back.

Hi, yes I would say in its category of ultra portable, it is high end. I find Olympia quality to be high from the smallest SF series right up to the largest SG series, Olympia knew how to build great typewriters and only used quality materials in their heyday.
