And you can get the monitor on Amazon here: amzn.to/2I9wTrP
In this video we discuss why the samsung 6-series TV's, mu6300, mu6500, mu6290, etc, are the best computer monitors for the money! They have 4:4:4 color, low latency, 4k resolution, no rgbw panels... and can be found on sale from time to time.

Fantastic video with great pro's an con's. My 27" $1000.00 monitor just kicked the bucket after 6 years and so I'm now also looking at the smart TV option! I have to comment on just two distractions that was obvious. 1) The glare of the TV screen was very disappointing. 2) That Band-Aid covering your laptop camera. Surely a little bit of black electrical tape would have worked and been less obvious. Keep in mind that Samsung have embedded camera's in the smart TV's that can be easily accessed remotely without you being aware! Not sure if the customer has access settings to disable it?? Cheers

Definitely go with a giant smart TV to replace your 27"... it is really a game changer having a monitor this big! As for the band-aid, I use those because the glue doesn't seem to rub off as much as tape... The lower end Samsung TV's like this one don't have built-in cameras, only the top of the line models, one of the reason I would never buy one! LOL

Appreciate the reply comments. You also mentioned that the newer version was a 6300 model. Are you able to comment on that one as to how it compares... more or less better or worse/ options. etc. I'll try looking them both up but it's nice to get others thoughts / opinions.

@@lisab3396 These days there are very little difference between the yearly TV models, The panels are all 4k HDR, and generally the differences will only be cosmetic. If you go to a higher model within the range, you will be getting a curved screen with a better remote control... I don't think these things are worth the cash if you will be using it as a monitor. Although curved is kind of cool (-:

Did you have any problem getting the 4:4:4 chroma to work? I can not get tbe UHD color to work thats how you are able to get 4:4:4 chroma. The screen will just flash constently and sometimes i hear a clicking sound. Did you experience anything like this?

The only problem I have had with 4:4:4 chroma was briefly, for about a day the UHD color option would not enable, but ut was related to my graphics card, not the monitor... a driver update fixed it.

I can't find any solution on the internet to this problem (ANYONE CAN HELP ME???)... -,-) Basically I want to use this TV as a monitor to my laptop but when I connect the exact same TV to my Asus g75vw 3d (to be specific ;p)...well it displays whatever is on my laptop on a very shitty resolution, I tried everything (extending the monitor or using the TV as a second screen only so I can change the resolution independently and nothing...my cable is 4k compatible. I have windows 8...I can't believe that another TV I have from another place that is 5 years old, works perfectly with a great resolution (1080p) just by pluging any hdmi cable...yet this TV from 2018 won't even let me display my laptop screen on a 1920x1080 resolution without looking like garbage...I tried to change the resolution to 3840x2160 on the nVidia panel but the screen crashes. I mean there surely is a solution cause the guy on the video has (I think) a much more primitive laptop than mine lol but srsly anyone???

I bought a Samsung UN40MU6300F 40" 4K TV as a monitor. It works great with Microsoft Word and Excel. The text is clear and crisp and I don't have an issue with the color bleed in text you get on some TVs (It does 4:4:4 chroma). I am however running it connected to an Alienware Alphar R2 with an Nvidia GeForce 960 video card. I can't tell you how it work with default graphic card on a laptop or desktop.

Thanks for your reply. In the meantime l bought a Sony KD43XE7093BU (UK model. Basically a Sony X720e in the US l believe). l'm very happy with it: text is super clear, lag is imperceptible (even when gaming), zero image retention, '4:4:4 chroma' and little 'light bleed.' As opposed to the Samsung models, this is a PWM-free TV (not sure if that makes any difference, to be honest). The only caveat l find is the glare (semi-gloss screen). l'm thinking of sending it back (as much as l love it) and get the equivalent TCL 2018 model when it becomes available. l have it connected to a desktop pc (GTX 1070).

Would buying a 65” qled 4k work? Will it let me basically use any screen size I want, up to 65”?
@petermeyer6873
@petermeyer6873 4 жыл бұрын
no, you probably cant choose the physical picture size. TVs are built to skale smaller than native resolutions to the full picture (65" in your case). samsung 4K TVs can handle 1080p, 1440p and of course 4K.

I'm wondering about viewing angles when sitting close to the screen while working on the desktop. How would you rate the image degradation in that regard? Do you notice washed out colors at the edges? I imagine a curved screen probably would fare better here, shame there is none in the Q6 line (Nu8500 would be an option, similar image quality).
@futureman11335637
@futureman11335637 5 жыл бұрын
I will make a video showing the viewing angles of the display, so you can have a look... But in the meantime I can tell you that they are very good, it is definitely not a TN display. It maintains color and clarity from all angles except from the left at about 90 degrees, where it fades a bit.

Good video. I also have this tv/monitor although it's the 6300 version. The 20 ms input lag at 4k 60hz 4:4:4 color is actually quite good and comparable to more expensive monitors of the same size.

The reason this is not the best (or anywhere close to the best) gaming monitor is because it has a 30Hz refresh rate. It can be increased to 60Hz. That means even if your pc is putting out 100 frames per second, your monitor can only pick up 30 or 60 of those so that is the highest fps you will ever see. Fine if you are just browsing the web, but not good for gamers. There is also input lag. I just got a better version of the 6-series (6950u) and I’m returning it and using the money for a 144hz monitor

The 7-series would be fine as well, almost identical to the one I used in this video. The Sony TV's/Monitors are generally regarded to be the absolute best, however the price is usually double, so it is up to you if it is worth the small bump in image quality for the fairly large increase in price. Amazon has a refurbished version of this monitor for $330 right now which is pretty cheap... here is the link: amzn.to/2I9wTrP
