I think this cuts both ways though. Now that we have less exposure to the NZ style of rugby via Super Rugby, we are also at risk of becoming complacent. If NZ start innovating again, which i think is quite likely, then we want to have as much experience against that as possible. At the end of the day, we just want the best contest possible. If NZ start getting better because they are getting more matches against us then that is good for Springbok rugby because the team will work even harder to get results.

Personally as a brit I disagree with your argument. You don’t want to do the series because you want to continue to starve NZ of better competition to keep them relatively weak, I don’t think that’s a good attitude to have when it comes to trying to promote healthier competition between nations. Personally I think more game time between top teams is a good thing.

Hell to the freakin NO!!! I say if we can win the Rugby World Cup in 2027 again (which I believe we will) just to prove a point that we are the best in the world (and how cool will it be to have South Africa appear for the 5th time on the Webb Ellis Cup 🤩🤤?) that will mean NZ will have to win the World Cup twice just to catch up with us 😂🤣, maybe after that we can start to “think” about these extended tests series but for now, it’s a BIG FAT NOOOOO!!!!

To be the best you have to beat the best. Imagine the pressure of such a series on both teams. Would be great for SA and NZ rugby. Not doing this cause you worried NZ will get better is weak. What was the best stories our dads and grandfathers told us about rugby? It was about playing the ABs and Lions. Your attitude would make us complacent and in the end a weaker team. Very short sighted

Personally I think we shouldn't take orders from the NZRU, it's interesting you bring up we won 3/20 super rugby games because there's actual evidence of match fixing from NZ. The Keith Lawrence episode which happened in the year 2000, you can still google articles about it. He literally openly admitted he'd ref against SA teams, so even before that era where we lost NZ played dirty and it was outright cheating. They love to accuse us of not having neutral refs during the time period where they couldn't really beat us but present 0 evidence. Then there's the Susie nonsense. They even had Paddy O'Brien in charge of world rugby's referees for a long time. This rabbit hole goes deep. All those times the Ab's would win passed the 80th minute against most opponents, or somehow get all the right calls suddenly don't look like so much skill anymore. For years they were in charge of how the rules were enforced by touch judges and refs, and now that the pendulum has swung and they're not so influential anymore suddenly they don't look so mythical anymore. It's good SA left them in the dust, now if only Australia would grow a pair and leave them to play amongst themselves they'd get really desperate. Isn't it hilarious how as soon as the AB's started getting reffed at the breakdown like any other team, suddenly they leak yellow and red cards like crazy and then claim the other teams can't beat them at full strength. When their whole game plan was running at pace and then milking cheap penalties. Their influence is also why everyone was scared to call out Richie Mccaw, he always played the ball on the ground and hands in the ruck, but as soon as the other team does it prrrt goes the whistle. It's glorious watching their sacred calf status get taken from them in real time.
@markrutherford60106 ай бұрын
Really???? Are you saying South Africa didn’t win much in the Super Rugby because we were cheating????? Maybe real reason is because your teams weren’t good enough!!! How many URC championships have you won??? Irish clubs are dominating this competition.I hope they are not cheating Lol😅. Excuses, excuses,excuses.
@karatekid-nq6ct6 ай бұрын
@@markrutherford6010 I presented you with evidence, go google it and you won't look like a fool. Not only did your refs conspire to cheat our teams, they were dumb enough to send an incriminating email to an SA ref, because they accidentally cc'd him into the email. We only joined the URC like what less than 5 years ago, already won 1 and lost 1 final, so not too bad I guess. Excuses? Lmao, go look at Fozzie and all your tv analysts scrambling to try and change the game cause you were caught cheating and couldn't beat us in the only final that matters, the world cup. Now run along and go google that article, it's embarrassing how there's evidence of NZ refs cheating and nothing being done about it in the end either.

Worst thing NZ ever did was allow SA to leave Super Rugby. The bottom line is the only way to prepare your players for the extreme harsh reality of 120kg+ of prime SA beef smashing the shit out of your defensive line is for them to experience it regularly. The Australians and PIs are simply not anywhere near what SA bring. Mark my words cos u can already see it... the teams SA play against will improve dramatically. Many comments about how no England teams in URC which to me is nothing more than acknowledging the arrogance of English rugby. You should have been smart enough to see the opportunity... But South Africans are never above playing against the lowly Scott's, Irish and Italians. We are not a ppl that have the luxury of choice.
@juanpierrebosch8 ай бұрын
NZ Rugby "cut of your nose to spite your face" when you pushed SA out of your SR. Now more known as Soft Rugby. Springboks will be aswell in danger of over playing players just to accommodate NZ Rugby.. I hope Russie tell them to stick it where the sun shines least..
@HeeniKeke8 ай бұрын
The lack of facts many South African fans have is shocking! The “so called pushing SA out of Super Rugby” was due to covid and uncertainty if things could go ahead. International restrictions worldwide were happening and many countries had numbers of infected spiking. Entry in and out of countries had people being placed in isolation for up to 10 days before they could leave. New Zealand was only country whose government took rapid fast action with full lockdown. Yet South Africans want to blame NZ …. How did you all expect games to happen with South Africa? Sure….go ahead and look for excuses and blame NZ for everything since you can never take accountability or responsibility for your own things.
@markrutherford60106 ай бұрын
English club rugby financially in a terrible state.Irish rugby is going well on and off the field. South Africa and New Zealand need the money.The tour will happen.A ten match tour would be a sell out. The All Blacks are biggest draw in World Rugby.Because for over 100 years they always turn up to win. They want win every match.They don’t go on holiday for four years.
