How does it make sense for 1 country to be responsible for more than 40% of world aid? All while its share of world gdp is around 29%

As someone who’s lived in Europe our three day work week may have to stop if we can’t get the Americans to pay for more. Perhaps Americans should go to a six day work week to help us out in Europe.

@@IvanChernobyllol sure you're from europe. Not a single European country has a 3 day work week. None even have widespread adoption of the 4 day workweek, so please do tell me where do you live again? Because I'd love to move to that imaginary country.

My question is why the US has to always be the biggest doner??? It is time for the EU and others to step up, and pay their fair share of World care, beginning with NATO. Safety and security first, and then charity. However, the charity of US tax payers needs to go to US citizens, the homeless, the poor, and the disabled first. In other words, one has to take good care of themselves first, before they can take better care of #1, #2, etc. Additionally, who is paying America's 36+ TRILLION dollar national debt? MORE THAN JUST SAYING...

NATO is not a philanthropic organization. It's mostly a jobs program that benefits America. The only time Article 5 has been utilized was the group coming to aid America after 9/11.

Is it the U.S. responsibility to provide aid indefinitely? They’ve been sending aid for over 80yrs, they’ve also been protecting maritime sea lanes free of charge for the same time so that countries all over the world can trade globally. Yet there’s nothing but resentment for the U.S.A.

The whole world is in debt. The US debt isn't from foreign aid. Medicare/medicaid, social security, disability, interest on national debt, earned income credit, the Pentagon, and the refusal to implement austerity (increase taxes and cut spending) is driving the increase in national debt.

My question is, in all these years of support to these countries in need, how has all this support helped them to develop and make them grow out of their very deep misery? After all that investment, are those people in a better state? Are they all living better lives? What has all this investment done to better the lives of all those people in need? I´m very sure that the people involved in "helping" them were living very comfortably while getting a hefty monthly payment for their so called "labor". Personally I find it extremely hypocritical.
