@MarcusBP14 күн бұрын
Agree. And I've been thinking a lot lately on what makes a person become a modern liberal. Hard to fully quantify, but there are very similar traits in nearly every one of them. This list is not necessarily true of their leadership; who often have far worse behaviors. I'm speaking of the typical leftist follower and supporter of progressive ideals and narratives. The first is having a great deal of fear, and it starts early. They can be easily manipulated and indoctrinated by tapping into their fears; which are almost always irrational. It also explains why leftists have such abnormal definitions of what real courage and bravery are. The second is lacking a moral compass, which often leads to moral (or immoral) relativism. This blinds them from the ability to believe evil actually exists, and blurs the lines between right and wrong. The third is the desire and eagerness to absolve themselves of personal responsibility. This can be seen in their inability to hold themselves accountable when they fail. Even when they fail spectacularly, the leftist will never voluntarily remove themselves from a position of authority. To them, an apology is a sign of weakness, and their instinct is to quickly assign blame to other persons or entities. The final is the most important...the lack of ability to understand human nature. This is manifested in their incompetence in dealing properly with an aggressive and hostile country or culture. The result is always placating, or projecting leniency and weakness to hostile countries like China and Iran. It also explains their authoritative desire to enact unpopular laws designed to force changes in people's basic beliefs or behaviors. Any challenges to their justifications will always be personalized, and met with hostility. Once these traits are hard-coded in them, they can be easily manipulated into justifying abhorrent actions or behaviors for the sake of whatever they were told to believe, and are essentially a lost cause that should never be given positions of authority. This is because their allegiance to leftist doctrine will always trump whatever duty of care they've been entrusted with. This conflict of loyalties and duties will nearly always lead to very poor and incompetent decision-making. A healthy and robust society understands these things, and will marginalize this type of person; as they have the potential to do great harm from within.

In essence, there were two questions that could not be answered by the left, and so the MSM refused to even ask them. But those questions were: 1 - If Trump was going to ruin everything if he gets elected, _then why didn't he do it the FIRST time he was in office?_ ... and... 2 - If Kamala was going to fix everything if she gets elected, _then why didn't she do when she was ALREADY in office over the last four years?_ ... and still _WAS_ in office as she campaigned. Concerning what Dave says about the Iraq War, I had lots of my so-called "conservative" friends and family say that exact same crap to me! I couldn't believe how gullible they were being. Here was this large group of people who would swear that "the government which governs least, governs best" and that more and more centralized power is a dangerous thing, and yet they were cheerleading things like "The Patriot Act"! They would have exhausted themselves telling you how big government couldn't be trusted with anything at home, and yet they were trusting that very same government to set things straight in Iraq and Afghanistan! It was freaking amazing to me!

100%. Most so-called conservatives are every bit as culpable for the state we're in as the far left. I was saying the same thing to my conservative friends at the time. It was only after _they_ became the targets that some of them start waking up. RINOs every one of of them. Pathetic.

I was duped by wmd narrative but it had much more to do with the fact that Saddam Hussein had already used chemical weapons against the Iranians and his own Kurdish population. The accusation of another type of wmd seemed believable. There was also reporting that he had purchased centrifuges from the Germans. One theory was that Hussein didn't have the nuclear weapon development but wanted other countries in the region to believe that he might have it. Perhaps this was simply a cover story to give an explanation for why no nuclear weapon stock was found. Thereby giving plausibility for the so-called intelligence. I suspected from about 1980 on that The US corporate media was extremely biased toward the left but didn't realize it was in every facet of politics. I didn't see an extreme polarization of foreign policy views back then. The change in perception of the FBI has been quite amazing. In the '60s and '70s the FBI was the bad guys for the black community and hippies. I thought they were the good guys that went into the South to investigate evil racist law enforcement. The CIA were the bad guys for the peaceniks. Good guys for anti-communists. Now both FBI and CIA are distrusted by conservatives + trusted by the lefties. An awful lot depends on who these agencies are controlled by and who they are targeting. As a conservative, I feel like the intelligence apparatus including the FBI is functioning like a secret police. I want the FBI to be de-politicized. I honestly don't know what to do about the intelligence agencies. I'm inclined to say declassify like crazy + budget cut. Reestablish the principal of foreign operations only at the least.

To be fair, Bush sent the former Ambassador of African countries to ask the leaders he knew if Saddam was, in fact, sourcing Yellow Cake Uranium from them. He did... they said "No" and he reported back to Bush, like "Hey, no worries, Intel isn't a science." Only for Bush to turn around and publically make the claim that Saddam was sourcing Yellow Cake. Which was a huge scandal when said former Diplomat went to... I believe it was the New York Times about it. I could be wrong, but I think he was charged with treason and his wife who was head of the CIA at the time was received of her position. @@ofc4517 If you read the entire report, you would have known that both Sarin and CN20 were previously known to have been produced in Iraq and were on the "list", incidentally so was Anthrax. Furthermore, people forget the very public statement Sadam made offering "safe harbor" to anyone plotting further attacks against us. Was there bad intel? yes. Was there exaggeration? yes. The greatest fear was a "dirty bomb". Oddly during the Clinton years Sadam was nailed more than once for gathering and attempting to refine Uranium. Sadam was a military dictator and an actual fascist known to have used chemical and biological weapons who willingly offered safe harbor to our enemies. I lose zero sleep at his downfall or what it cost the Iraqi people. There is a good reason the military uses the term CBR, (chemical, biological. and radiological) weapons. "Weapons of mass destruction" is a media headline term.

But we don't want the smoking gun to be a mushroom cloud." Condoleezza Rice "The British Government has learned that Saddam Hussein recently sought significant quantities of uranium from Africa.” George Bush "trying, through his illicit procurement network, to acquire the equipment he needs to be able to enrich uranium - specifically, aluminum tubes." It was presented as a nuclear threat, and when that turned out to be untrue and the elites had their war, then and only then was the narrative changed to a broader less specific weapons of mass destruction.

No one in the US government was saying that Saddam Hussein had anything to do with 9/11 or that he had nuclear weapons. The “weapons of mass destruction" argument was about Iraq possibly having chemical weapons, biological weapons, or enriched uranium for dirty bombs that they could possibly sell to terrorist organizations. The problem was that by 2003, most of those WMDs had been shipped to Syria and were no longer in Iraq due to the UN inspections. The Bush administration went to war in Iraq under the assumption that they were still there based on bad intelligence from the same CIA director who told Bill Clinton where to aim his Tomahawk missiles back in the 1990s that hit everything but their targets.
