Hello Dr. Tejas, it's great to see you on KZbin. I've been following your work on TeamBHP for a while and appreciate your efforts to promote responsible off-roading. As India's only certified I4WDTA instructor, your expertise is invaluable. I'm looking to buy a hardcore off-roader (Thar or Jimny) and plan to modify it. I prefer the Jimny's solid axles, but the Thar's more powerful engine is appealing. Given my focus on off-road capability, which would you recommend?

Earlier i have installed these LT AT Yoko 215 tyres, but i found the ride quality to be very harsh even at 26 psi. There was continous thud sound even on small bumps. I have swappwd these for Bridgestone Dueler AT 002 which gives better ride quality than these Yoko LT tyres. This is my personal observation. Please do share your feedback on this issue.

If you want a 4*4 for off roading just get a jimny brother…i say this bluntly…it is just simply the best off roader in the sub 30 lakh range….if you have the budget you can get the hilux.

@@Golddustdetector Sierra Would be a soft roader…if you want a soft roader you can also wait for the rumoured new duster AWdD the current option to try would be scorpioN xuv700 fortuner et al…Thar roxx is an inciting option my Mama ji even has one but it is neither here nor there sort of car as it cannot fully be used like an purpose built off roader nor it as comfortable as its soft road counter part like the xuv or even the N.

Dr Tiwari, do you know where in India I can get winter tyres-proper winter tyres, the kind that are meant to be only used in upto 10°C? I want this for black-ice situations in the Himalayas. This needs to be in the same size as the stock tryes of the Jimny. Also, do you know where Ican get AT rated tyres of the exact same size as stock tyres of the Jimny? I have seen both of these in other countries online, but I haven't seen it in India online when I tried. Please advise. (Since many people ask when I state this need, I will answer this in advance: I am asking for the stock size since I am keen on following the India user manual in these matters and keep the stock size even for different ratings and compounds, for all the reasons mentioned in the manual.)

Technically no modification is allowed. That’s why we have done this to the car that is used only in our training property on private land.

Can you explain the difference between 215/75 vs 235/75. Your reasons for choosing 215/75. Because I have seen 235/75 section on Jimny as well. Also pros of having 235 over 215 and vice versa. Would like to hear your views on this topic, also a youtube video explaining the differences between these two would be better.
