There is, I believe it's a 60, Corvette convertible, light blue, all original, even the tires, unrestored. Showroom condition. With if I remember right even less miles in the car museum at Russells Truck & Travel Center in glenrio New Mexico that I would much rather have. No idea on the value. Very beautiful car.

L88. My friend owned one of 17 1969 L88'S with an automatic. That car was a beast. I did get a chance to drive it and had a blast. It sold in the low 300's and shortly there after went up to the 500's.

L88 because it's the 2nd to the ultimate - you could still be anonymous owning it. Everyone knows who owns the two ZL1's so it would be a nightmare car to own. While it's cool, I could live just fine without the aluminum block and the knowledge that I still had one of only 216 amazing pieces of GM history.

THey are clunky tougher to drive slower not comfortable..Remember when tri 5 chevies model Ts and street rods were so expensive? Now they cant give them away esp if they still hve those goofy colors tweed interior and ugly boyds wheels.

Honnel was my auto shop teacher back in the early 70,s. This was his show car that I got to ride in in 1975. The car had a wild paint job, fat tires, and orange fur interior. He had all types of connections and a stable of cars. A thunderbolt, King Cobra, Ranchero GT.

I love pre-1972 Corvettes but I want to drive my car, thankfully there are folks with the money that can preserve these rare and beautiful collectible cars. A car that’s not driven is like a woman too fine to have relations with. I understand but that’s not how I roll, I drive my cars and I fu@k my women, definitely not saving them for the next guy. True, but there comes a point where you have to ask yourself if you really want to take the chance of taking it out on the street where any IDIOT is out there drinking or on his cell phone or just being stupid. These cars are irreplaceable and the Idiots I'm talking about are usually under insured or NOT insured at all. You may get your money back....but the car is lost! Kind of like a rare bottle of wine, you open it up and it's value is gone....but if you hold it, it's value goes up. AND.....people can go to car shows, see it and admire these fine pieces of automotive history. I (being a Muscle Car owner and enthusiast of over 40 years) have seen and experienced both sides of this argument. Just saying...... ;-)

@@caribman10 What an idiotic comment. Comparing the restoration of a car that had LESS THAN 400 ORIGINAL MILES ON IT but had been re-painted and had different wheels put on it back in the day to restoring a car that gets T-boned at 50 MPH by some drunk Millennial is so far beyond stupid I can't believe you even said something like that. I can tell just by your comment that you've never owned even a DECENT classic car, let alone one that is stunningly restored to factory condition and is one of less than 400 originally built.

*Great Video* . I enjoyed all the History. _It's extremely hard to explain a Special Corvette or Collector Cars like this to 95% of the people._ *You either get it or don't; it's that simple.* People Collect many things in life, and if someone has 200K or 300K to *buy a Car like* this and store it in his man cave or girl cave and admire the Collectible Car while they are kicking back with a few like-minded Car Guys or Car Girls great, it's their money, and it's their car, whether it's driven or not is that collector's choice. If you took this Corvette out every Sunday for a short cruise and someone ran a stop sign and T-Boned it, the original car would no longer be original. This would end this collectable car's History and Legacy; it's gone forever as it is not a survivor as it would not have its original parts. Look at that Orange L71 that Sold at the Auction for three million. It's rare, and it's special. If you have the money to collect cars, great, and do whatever you want to the Car. But when they are a special car like this, I hope people will want to save them for History so car girls like my daughter can admire them in the future? Did the Corvette sell? If not, let me know, and I could share the Video with the 40K and slowly growing @CorvetteSuperCars #Family, aka. #CSC #FAM DM me at @CorvetteSuperCars on Instagram if you are interested? However I just picked up a gorgeous '82 CE with only 24,700 miles (been in a car collection for the past 22 years) and it's so clean and straight that I'm actually concerned about driving it anywhere! Too many uninsured idiot drivers out there that just don't give a damn. As for your beauties, same thing....who could comfortably drive them anywhere? They (like my CE) belong in a person's LIVING ROOM.....not on the street!! ;-)

FYI back in the day the L89 was the tri power replacement engine. When I setup the Islip Fire Dept race trucks if you could not get the L88 the L89 was easy to get and I got them from Rumplick chevy. Read my first book: Islip Speedway and the two Six-packs which in film development, you'll both love it. One ZL1 vette was sized in a drug raid in 1994. I'm not sure if that's the one Dana Mecum owns? Anyway great cars great memories...

i would have been tempted to keep the crazy 70's mods...I would personally have loved that...wish we could see what it looked like. Day 2 with period mods is hot now, so not sure if that would have been worth more, or a full resto where you lose all originality, or a wash...for me, not so much concerned about 'worth' but more about character...not that would be able to afford this in any case.

I can't imagine what any three of the cars mentioned drive like. However, for 2 summers, some years back, I had an L48 350 horse 350 '69 convertible (yellow with black top and sidepipes), that I drove a lot, and it was a beast. To me, the '69 is the best Corvette, but I love em all. A big block '69 is obviously awesome, but you will love the small bloc too.

In 1985 I purchased a 7500 mile car, IDENTICAL to this one from a pilot that ordered the car while in the air force, Everytime he came home he got his then Fiancee pregnant, He needed a Van for the 3 girls he had, I purchased the car from him, We were both engineers for the city of Austin Texas, I sold the car to my brother on the condition he would sell it back to me for the same amount if he ever sold it, He drove it to Santa Monica California and sold it to a guy in Calabasass Ca, For 3 times more than I sold it to him for 2 days after getting to California, We did not talk for 5 years because of it, He avoided me like the plague !!!!!!!!!!! I miss that car. What a beast it was, It had enough torque to take off in 4th gear without bogging !!!!! PS, This is a Beautiful and VERY rare car, Mine was the same color !!!!!!!!!!!

*A 68 in yellow with the RPO L79 350/360 was a Friday night car, and Saturday night in the garage. It ATE throw out bearings, rusty calipers, always some ass ache. Till when running on Smiths Ridge one night I got the attention of a cop, decided I had enough points already and put my foot into it. And the timing chain let loose. Gone forgotten, never again.* MOPAR

I always enjoy when you share your car knowledge with us. Normally that low of mileage would make me nervous. But with the restoration it's good

Had cars like that. Get the right insurance and put tons of miles on them. Made them all my dailys for a yr then would rotate daily . None got ruined road rash etc like so many geezers love to say Its just metal nuts and bolts when you tear one apart.

I worked with someone who bought that same L88 in a convertible. His girlfriend worked at a bank and she was able to get him a loan for the car. The guy was spending every penny he made paying the monthly on it. He tore it apart to turn it into a race car and a year later was a POS junk.
