Im a 44yr old man in Perth Australia and I was forced out of my rental as it was sold and due to the housing crisis here as the new owner wanted to move in. That was September 2023 and due to the rent costs and lack of properties as there are so many people going for the same property (think 20-30 other applicants in one day) and the cost of rent being well over my income I became homeless in Sept 2023. Im now on the waiting list for a government apartment but it may be another year. I live in emergency accommodation transitional housing with a random guy who isnt the greatest but I have a bed and a roof. A friend is holding a lot of my stuff and furniture in their storage and they are looking after my cat. Ive been watching your videos and just relating a lot. There is also other mental health stuff in my life and neurodivergence along with carer burnout as I was full time caring for my friend and not looking after myself so I had a breakdown in 2021. But yeah, our story is not uncommon and its just a reflection on society and governments skewed priorities. Wish you the best my friend. I hope this year is better than the last and good things come your way. Next time I have a coke I will think of you and cheer "Coke San!"

I'm also 44 and from Perth and I knew there were people out there like you, struggling to survive in our crazy expensive city, next month, my rent goes from $410/wk to a whopping $575/wk. We had to get another person to move in to help pay the rent (they don't even have a bedroom, just the couch) but it's still going to be really tight, budget wise, I live in constant fear of losing our rental 😢 I hope you find better accommodation soon friend 🙏
@Sorj-Sonr15 сағат бұрын
@ Wow $575/wk I'm sorry to hear that, that really sucks. The last place I was renting was in Gosnells a 3bed unit and the last rent I was paying was $420/wk and that was alone, so it was a struggle. At the time I wasn't in a good place to start getting housemates and I just shouldered the burden so my 2 sons could have somewhere safe to hang out. I know that fear of losing your rental, I really hope it doesn't happen, and they just leave the rent at that. It's that uncertainty that doesn't go away and I hope the new housemate goes well. This city really is expensive, but it could be far worse I keep telling myself. I hope this year is good for you too and that if things do go awry that you have people around you to help and support one another. Stay strong 💪

So I am glad to see you always smile, even when you're sick, even when you're faced with challenges that delay your plans, you still smile. It reminds me that even in the darkest of times, there's always a glimmer of hope... It just depends on how you look at things. I dont see a homeless man i see a free spirit❤ brother dont let society bind you be free be happy thats all that matters at the end. BTW you should do a series on showing a beautiful location in every district in japan show us the beauty you know unfortunately i can’t travel to japan.

I love when you teach us about Japanese culture. Being homeless doesn't have to be the end goal, and I hope other people see it as well. You seem like a fun and creative person who'll always figure something out!

12:38 luck is one way to put it but I think people wanted to see Japan from homeless man's perspective. It helps that you have such a good personality and you seem authentic and real. I know watchers can't realistically know youtubers but with your case, they kind of do: since you have stayed in their apartments etc. That kind of authenticity is rare.
