The middle men earn a substantial amount because they buy in bulk and have huge storage facilities which the end consumer doesn’t have. Children of farmers are desperate to make a living in the cities and the city folks yearn to return to age old natural farming. It’s clear that there isn’t enough money to be made by small farmers and there will always be work pressures in the corporate world with high disposable incomes. Finally everyone has to choose their own path
@ayeshajacobs4374Ай бұрын
Actually, in my area people pay way more money for "gauvte/desi/organic" produce. It can be done.

Dear sir, is the method self sustaining? Happy to hear your success stories, but equally important for us is to hear failures you would have encountered before achieving success. Please narrate as that would teach us a good lesson. Good luck 👍 well done 👍
@goodfoodmovementАй бұрын
Hi, it is self sustaining in the long run. But crops have patterns and life spans that need careful monitoring. As a portal we try to share examples but each farming story is unique and we urge everyone to figure out what works best for them.

@goodfoodmovementАй бұрын
He uses a combination of Beejamrutha, Jeevamrutha and Neem Oil for most challenges. The key to organic or natural farming is to see insects as part of the biodiversity. A thriving ecosystem usually has natural predators like birds and frogs to take care of insects :)

It is true that nothing is "zero budget". For example - is our labour free? But the idea of ZBNF was to push towards a model that requires very little input and interference.
@Kai-n7iАй бұрын
Zero investment microsprinklers? As a 20 year farmer of Complex policultures, I would Say that this video, although inspiring to the novice, is deceaving. Perhaps It will convince someone to go and try, and as they interact with human habitat they will hopefully begin to build the physical ability, discipline, and pasion necisary to live off the land. I hope this person also developes those skills and disciplines and grows together with those that tend his land and provide for him. It's a beautiful property. I had not heard of the farming guru he mentions. Natural farming was a term coined by Masanobu Fukuoka. But what he is trying to do reminds me more of the Ernst Gotsch "Syntropic" system.

@goodfoodmovementАй бұрын
You are absolutely correct. It is perhaps deceiving to call in zero budget because it doesn't quantise human effort, early land preparation etc. But this is model is called the ZBNF model and it was started by Subhash Palekar. Farmers have been using this model as reference to set up farms across the country.
