Probably because people don't understand that 1, you have to approach every fight differently than other champions, and 2, once you go in, you have to hard commit your decision. A lot of players struggle with the commitement part of her kit.

im shocked people haven't picked up this champ faster, since i started playing her I've gone from low plat to emerald with JUST briar! I don't think she is overpowered but Briar is hella strong when you work out how to use her kit correctly Things I learned spamming her 1: levels are EVERYTHING early, you are not Warwick even if you have the skirmishing power are not going to be looking for every fight on the map. early game is about farm and opportunist ganks 2: Vs full clear junglers like eve or udyr its 100% possible to solo clear his other side of jungle if you know they have no vision. look at things like enemy 5 man invading at lvl 1 as an opportunity to counter jungle, Briar can easily clear chickens/red/krugs at the same speed as most junglers will be clearing there blue side. This is worth more than a kill early as the XP is huge 3: respect champions that can go invisible, true invisibility like kha'zix R or shaco Q WILL make briar run towards next target in W. A good Kha'zix will use his R to disrupt your tempo by making your champion juggle targets. 4: if you choose to use W without E up expect to kill or be killed, E is the most important ability to have up if fighting near turrets 5: the dash on Briars W will let you jump walls slightly thicker than its actual range unlike MOST champions, you can test this out yourself in practice tool and you will see you can actually get extra range on the dash using it this way from raptor camp wall or over wolves wall. use this to create good flanks 6: Best way to secure long range Rs (more than 1/3 map) is to walk into the lane and fire it down the lane, players mostly do back/forward motions in lane so you have a lot less concern about them randomly side stepping before your R comes into view. Edit: Also thought I'd mention, when people have worked Briar out more I think they will realize she is everything Warwick WANTED to be for the jungle but just lacked in tools. Warwick has always stood in this space where he is meant to be a jungle but ended up being more suited to top, lacking in gank power outside of overextended low hp targets, Briar HAS the tools to gank and make plays around the map with more tempo (even if she loses out a "bit" on dualing power for it )

Yeah good catch! I noticed that it was Quinn self knock back not Briar E I had to replay it a few times to catch it. Briar E’s after leaving tower range. The E cast time is too long for her to knock back after ult in that scenario.

I still personally think Goredrinky is better than Stridebreaky on Briar. I like to remedy the lack of attack speed with Lethal Tempo, and Spear of Shojin for the low-health buffs

For runes, I go PTA and resolve second tree. Items: Goredrinker -> Boots -> Black Cleaver -> Steraks -> Shojin -> Spirit Visage (The last two items can be whatever you want. This is just my standard.) Goredrinker heal allows you to survive team fights you have no business surviving. It has saved me from death multiple times. Also, I don't recommend pressing W when enemies are far away. It wastes the time on the ability you otherwise would have had. Instead, use it when they are just slightly out of range. Then Q your target immediately while in range. (Obviously, W and then Q immediately during the W animation will always be better if you are close enough to your target.)

I started playing her this weekend and so far, i have around a 50/50 win rate with her. I mostly find success with buying Ravenous > BORk > Stridebreaker or Ravenous > Stridebreaker > BORk. I honestly love her design and have a lot of fun playing her. So far, based on my games, Champs that counter her in the JG are Rammus (Obviously), Kayn, and its impossible to gank a Zed and Akali. Other than that, THIS is the kind of champion RIOT should focus on, cool gimmicks that change how you should approach the game. P.S. I love her even more because we all know she's not going to be a Pro All-Star pick, meaning that RIOT won't fuck with her like they do a ton of champions pre-worlds.

How about Iceborn Gauntlet? I don't see anyone talk about it except for one guy on youtube. Pair it with ability haste items you can really make use of the frost field. It helps Briar teamfight better due to the additional defense stats you gain with every item, too. Also, I love building Wits End for AS since I also go for Conqueror. Thanks to going IG I can also build BotrK and I don't have to worry about squishiness.

You get all the benefits of W automatically when you press R (Plus the stats R gives you). So pressing W while in R only gives you your jump and the ability to press W2.

nah her w synergizes too much with conquerer or lethal tempo, you have mostly logner fights not so muhc burst.

I tried phase rush last night. I could see it being viable if they have dashes etc but not as much cc.. it let me get a lot more autos off in a smaller window even if they didn’t hurt as much as conq, but when you only have a small window to work between their cooldowns it felt like phase helped me get more out of those windows

Xin runs Conq by default for a very long time, Lethal isn't as good at all. you already have an AS boost in kit so get AD scaling (conq stacks) to make them hit hard af

Hate to see meme channels picking her up as bad. A lot of players are on the level of intermediate Bots, who can't be bothered to read up on abilities or use practice tool. Of course such a unique champ will be hard to pull off overall.

She doesn't need the damage passive from blade, she has enough. Her passive gives healing inherently and her E heal scales with bonus HP so stride gives dmg, hp, AS, haste (the 4 things she loves way more than lifesteal which is also granted on R bezerk)... it also allows way better snowball in that with a lead if you have HP the enemy won't have enough to get through it vs if you have Botrk you can be blown up. This applies to gore vs more melee comps and that gives omnivamp in exchange for AS so basically gives you botrk sustain plus stride base stats (mostly). For evidence: Stride has a 4% > win rate than Blade 1st item. Gore even higher but much lower sample size (due to being picked in specific situations so it has an optimization buff vs stride being more default)

Damage is always good, but one of Briar's main weaknesses is being squishy, gore/stride can give that HP that she needs to survive risky skirmishes. I have been experimenting with lots of items, BoRK seems a obvious good choice, but there are better options. Survivability is paramount for this champion.

I still think she is weak. She gives up any outplay potential with her berseker mode and only win team fights when your team is already dominating. If the rest of your team is behind she cant play at all. Her gank is also very stiff and many champions with dash can simply out run her bc she cant afford to buy boots too early.
