Dude, you're easily one of my favorite youtubers. Smart, resourceful, easy to listen to and understand, no annoying intro/outro music, just great content. Well done man, I bought a set of plans even if I'm not going to build it right away to show a little appreciation.

Justin- I purchased your Overarm tablesaw dust collection plan. I want to encourage you to continue your youtube videos! You are precise, concise, no fluff, polite, have great content, and demonstrate excellent skills. Althoujgh you state yopu are not a professional, I disagree-----you are superior to 95% of the woodworkers and youtubers in our current day. I am getting ready to purchase your "Best Sander" plan too! Best regards- Scott Glaser

This thread is 4 years old, I found it following release of Justin's pantograph cabinet door vid which is excellent. I bought the plans, this is great for compactness and easily interchangeable rounded vs flat platens is a magnificent feature that commercial machines don't have

Thanks Mike! Would love to see your sander when you finish building it. I still use mine all the time!

I really like the fact that you built the work platform "table" over the whole sander foot print. It seems to give you a comfortable position to sand from!
@JustinDepew5 жыл бұрын
Good point, I forgot to mention this. Most commercial sanders have too small of a table!

Awesome design. Now I can use your plans instead of trying to copy. Thanks, looking forward to more designs.

Love this sander, inspired me to make my own with an old grinder, worked out great, made mine so I can swap belts fast.

I like your simple and useful design! I might build one myself from your plans.

Extremely nice build... wondering if maybe you could make the table itself adjustable if you needed to sand an angled piece. Just a thought. Still, I really like the videos as you have given me ideas for own shop. Thanks and keep up the great work.

If you need an angle you can always put a curve bracket on the side of the table and simply tilt the whole table - easy peasy Love your channel and watching everything ;-)

Really awesome job.. just some questions.. 1. I see you put a bicycle tube on the lower wheel but not on the upper wheel - can it be added to the top wheel also to provide better support , and 2- how do you adjust the tension/slack on the belt so it doesn't bind or slip when it is running? 3. could your plans be modified to use a larger width belt?
@JustinDepew3 жыл бұрын
The bicycle tube on the upper wheel is not necessary, but yes, you could put one there. The tension on the belt is done with the two screws that go through the upper wheel axle. I believe yes you could modify the plans to use a larger belt. Everything would just get wider in that direction.

If you ever do want to correct the perpendicularity, you can just put a layer or two of tape on the back of your backer strip.

It would not be difficult to add a dust port onto the enclosure box. It would reduce the dust and keep the motor cleaner.

Very nice build Justin. I've visited you site and was very impressed with the quality of your plans. What software are you using to create them?

Thanks! I use fusion 360

It looks like a fantastic machine. But wouldn't one of the downsides of this compared to a normal 1 inch belt sander be the length of the belt? they're usually much longer than yours, so less likely to clog up, faster cutting action?
@JustinDepew5 жыл бұрын
I am using a 30inch belt which is pretty common. There are 42inch machines out there too, which yes would last longer.
