I'm soooo happy that you are enjoyed your trip here. It must have been quite stressful not to understand the language, but your smiles give me a relief as Japanese. I'm sorry to tell you that that wasn't a shrimp tenpura that you ate. It's just a fried shrimp.😂 The batter of a tempura is made from flour, cold water, and eggs; fried shrimp is covered in panko bread crumbs. The restaurant you went is called Katsu-ya, a chain restaurant that provides fried food. Katsu means cutlet and most of the time we refer to pork cutlet. The tea is probably barley tea or roasted green tea. We don't drink tea with sweeteners, especially when eating greasy foods, because we want to drain down the oil with it. Can't wait for your next video!

Okay, this is crazy. Not fan-girling over here (maybe a little), but I think we're living parallel lives. We left Japan right about when you guys got there and your videos are so similar to ours (minus the audience). We took our Insta360 and got some incredible video inside TeamLab Planet, the Nintendo store in Kyoto, and walking down those insane cherry blossom tree-lined streets. Then we flew to Sydney and jumped on the Celebrity Edge for a one-way back to Honolulu, but that's beside the point. The kicker- we live in Orlando. 😊

Im so sad I can't afford to go to Japan right now. When I lived there it was after the big 9.0 in 2011 and the yen rate was 75 yen to 1 dollar. The exchange rate is SO so good right now its not even funny!
