My take on Explorer is that it's a great choice for someone who wants just one watch to own and wear for the next 30 years, but for most watch enthusiasts with multiple watches in their collection, it's just too plan and boring and it will never get worn. Great content as always. ❤

@@JohnSmith-ef8nr It’s a good watch, but you wouldn’t catch me dead wearing it with a suit and it’s not made to be worn while swimming either, hence why I see the Explorer having the edge in the “go anywhere, do anything” category. Can be worn while swimming in the ocean, going for a posh dinner, while skiing, climbing, or gardening, but also on a wedding or funeral. Wouldn’t wear a F91W for the more formal occasions mentioned earlier.

@natusMCMII5 ай бұрын
@@45graham45 I absolutely agree, watches (for true enthusiasts) are never about money, no watch is automatically better than another just because it's more expensive. For me it's just a style and preference thing, like I said, I like the F91W, but I'd never wear it to a wedding or funeral, but that's just me. My wrist is 7.25”-7.75” depending on the temperature and I wear an OP 36mm with the blue 369 dial. I’ve been collecting over 20 years and am leaning more towards smaller watches as I get older. I don’t understand people that need a dinner plate on their wrists to feel “masculine.”
@liquid_metal4 ай бұрын
I don't understand the childish "dinner plate" comments where the 36mm EX1 is now clearly targeted at females with its true size being nearer 35mm and the dainty bracelet that tapers to 14mm. Rolex released the larger 40mm - which is actually 38mm - because the 36mm wasn't selling. They are masters at marketing and sales. As for being clearly an older gentleman and still commenting like a teenager, Watches of Switzerland do some $2bn of watch sales a year. Their own data has 42mm as the most popular mens watch size. So it seems the majority of men do in fact want to wear "dinner plates" on their wrist, while you enjoy wearing something the wife could also borrow without it looking out of place. Each to their own. We all like different things and watch size/preference is a very personal thing.
