@ManCo I’m always on the side of supporting the official release of any artist’s work, but if it happens that doesn’t have an official English translation I’d have to use other methods, but at the very least I want to share the existence of the manga. Maybe that could create more demand to have eventually an official English translation.

for a society as caged as the japanese Jimi's just the absolute symbol of freedom and strangeness: afroamerican, charismatic, unhinged, raw, powerful, direct, colorful clothing, eccentric, plus he's the spark of inspiration for almost every single rock artist after 67 (if that's on occident just imagine the shock on Japanese artist by the time), like, even the complicated Robert Fripp, Lou Reed and even Miles Davis adored him, and went multiple concerts, there's no fucking WAY some artist like that passes unnoticed for them, even without hearing the music, it's like knowing an alien walked the earth and they just missed it

I remember watching "K-On!" years back and while it's cute and I like the poppy music and all, it doesn't really do much or dive into its characters. This, with its action packed art style and character focused segments, sounds more up my alley. I'd love to hear Shiori and the gang try, even for a one season experiment. Too bad the copyright sidesteps would be killer for most anime production studios.

After finishing the Manga, I have never been so motivated to keep playing drums. It perfectly shows what its like to be a creator, and how hard it is to fail again and again. Never feeling enough, and that your art will never matter as much as the greats. It shot up probably to my #3 manga out of every one ive read, its INCREDIBLE. And I love the way it portrays music as a hardcore force that you can FEEL.

I remember this! This manga is amazing. One of the most noticeable point for me is the art, I remember “feeling” their music and being blasted away by it. OMG I'm really so thankful to see someone talking about this manga. honestly, it was hard for me to find anyone that was even aware of its existence. I was reading it during the fall of 2020 I believe and it literally changed the way I hear music!! this manga made me a jimi hendrix fan! I bet if I didn't read it I wouldn't even know who he is... sadly the translation I was reading was abandoned so I had to stop reading for a while, but now i think I'm ready to come back to it!!!! so glad to see other fans of it here, it makes me smile like a fool!

I randomly came across this manga last month while looking for something to fill the hole Bocchi the Rock left in my heart and I love it so damn much... The DMCA made me realised that Wandance manga may never get an anime. Since it is about hip hop dancing to relative recent pop songs. It also tells you which song is playing, with lyrics to guide you. Wandance could use some animation since the most common complain readers have is that the moves are hard to read or make out how they transition into each other.

You only scratched the surface for the reasons it won't get an adaptation, the visual compositions and the story itself always puts really high stakes for the music. You're gonna need a really good team of musicians to make the jimi hendrix and kurt cobain concert sound as good as the visuals suggest and as acuratte as possible to those two artists. And they're also gonna need to do that for the other artists in the 27 club. Also the visuals will need a big budget to be replicated cause how else is the animation team supposed to replicate that panel with three buses running the stage over? Or that other panel with the giant whale in the mosh pit? The chances of shiori experience getting addapted with these two factors alone are already slim, the copywriting stuff is just the cherry on top

It's kind of a shame that stupid copyright laws will stop this from ever getting an anime but even then I think that having this as a cult classic is still a great scenario, if not better. I have a very profound love for rock music so just seeing some of the manga panels and descriptions in this video is already enough to convince me to read this; I can already imagine how great and immersive of an experience it would be to binge this entire series in a couple hours with some classic rock tracks playing in a separate tab. Thanks for shining some light on this manga, can't wait to see what other videos you make next!

Minor spoilers for the manga. The thing that i love the most about the visual metaphors that the manga uses for the concerts, is that they are not only there to give intensity to those moments, but, they are fundamentally connected with the themes, context and the even music itself that the artists at the moment are playing.Take for example black bus, a hard rock band, the first appearance and introduction of them ended up showing us, the reader, that the sound they were making was an earthquake that blasted and impacted everyone in their surroundings, in contrast to the light music club that lacked experience and didn't used such an aggressive sound in comparison to hard rock, or how in their appearance in the battle of the bands, the moment that they start to play the bus that they own breaks through the walls of the concert and takes us to their flashback, showing us how their life story is being carried into the music that they are making, or in a last instance, and my personal favorite example, how Kurt Cobain and Jimmy Hendrix were the only characters, at the moment of writing this text, that manage to create a typhoon with their music, that took form outside of the show house they were playing, this has only happened to them because they are legends, and both of them were playing passionately songs that they admire of each other, not only showing their technical abilities in that scene, but also the amount of emotional viscerality, mutual respect and admiration that was being put in the performance, this is why by the end of that performance we see Jimmy and Kurt smiling and laughing, they are satisfied, happy and glad that they were able to perform with each other. It really makes you wonder _how_ the artist yuukou osada would depict live performances by other talented artists and amazing live performers like Stevie Wonder, LCD Soundsystem, Prince, Milton Nascimento or even Travis scott with his incredibly energetic performances, we have got new amazing examples recently with the thunder and mosh pit scenes in chapter 64, but God damn I would do everything to see him recreate Myth by beach house in his usual art style and with the writing of Kazuya Machida.

I read the manga because of this video. I was not convinced at first but after reading the video title I got curious. I haven't watched this video still but after reading 14 volumes I think I get why it's absolutely impossible to adapt this manga. It's not just copyright but also the song like Jack in itself, the anime needs a genius to make it which I doubt they could find. Jack in needs to be like Bohemian Rhapsody, if it sounds just OK then I think the anime just doesn't work. Imagine, the whole stage is visualize as crumbling everyone is flown to the air because of how great this song is meanwhile the song sounded like cotton eye joe. Tldr they need the 27 club group itself to make this anime. Edit: well damn the translation was only up to vol 14 I guess I'm pretty much caught up now.

Thank you so much for the recommendation, the manga is fire. I never liked Jimi Hendrix or Kurt Cobain except for a select few of their songs. The manga doesn't even try to depict them as a once living people -- it takes their legend, their shallow pop-culture images, but manages to go nuclear with them, you start believing in them yourself, you get inspiration from them and you trust the legend with all your heart. It draws a clear line between a fantasy and reality, then fully commits to fantasy while still delivering powerful, emotional and believable story. All the characters, from Jimi Hendrix to that bitch from the orchestra -- they're not real people, but the ideals, used in the story that is executed so well that you connect to each and every one of them, and that's what makes them incredibly real to you. This manga reminded me of my passion for making music, even if it's an absolute hell, I couldn't find anything else to fulfill me.

I just hope with the popularity of music anime recently there's a studio that bold enough to adapt it into anime. They could probably go with Jojo's route about the naming, but I'm more concerned about what kind of music they gonna sound.
