How much do season tickets run? Because unless they're non transferable, I would assume that they sell for a fairly significant number since they now have at least one must see player. And with the way economies in general work, the season tickets will only increase in price. Pretty sure you would get more money if you took the Pirates offer. Then you could sell one of the jerseys. You would have all that money, plus a Paul Skenes signed jersey. Plus, sitting next to Livvy Dunne for a few hours seems like something worth doing.

Yeah it's become a joke because it's going to be certain breakers who have been hitting all the other 1/1 cards that are worth a ton of money. Someone who is sponsored by Topps and Fanatics who get loaded boxes all the time will hit it. Most likely it will be hit by The Backyard girls or Layton Sports Cards.

I am a Pirates fan. Like most (all?) Pirates fans, I am tired of losing. But I still love PNC park and being there is probably my favorite thing in the world. Bottom line: I would want the Pirates to have the card, so that it can be displayed prominently in PNC Park and shared with all other baseball fans who visit there, rather than sit in some millionaire’s safe. And yes, I am an actual customer; I was not paid by the Pirates to write this comment. 😊

Great video, but one of your math equations has a major flaw. If you sold the card for $150K, after taxes you would only have $75K to invest. So that 30 year investment of cash would yield half or less than the total you came up with. Just trying to help with the accuracy of the comparison.

It costs them the value they would get selling those seats for every home game for the next 30 years. Of course it is costing them something. If the card sold for 150k, that would be a cheaper investment than a team giving away 162 seats a year for 30 years.
