I have no idea about the financial arrangements these guys make. But what's interesting is the rather high % of these poker player stories that nclude allegations of reneging on gambling/staking debts. Which leads me to question what % of allegedly successful players are, in fact, successful (at poker specifically). I'm starting to think the marketing and side hustles are more the point than making money at the actual game. And based on all these outstanding loans, it's not enough for most players, even good ones.

Saw Eli at ResortsWorld about 5 months ago, was playing cash of course in a separate room. Not sure what the game was and didn’t wanna be annoying and bug him. Oddly enough the only person at the table that knew him was the dealer. Nobody else had any idea who he was. Not a bad thing tho, shows that there will always be a never ending stream of new players in the game!

I live in Vegas and play low stakes poker. I've heard hundreds of stories from dealers and other players about "professional" poker players. My conclusion: the majority are degenerate gamblers who are losers. In general, many also have other addictions such as drinking, drugs and sports betting.
