Rich people buy house in Jackson WY and put that as primary residence although they don’t live there and only visit couple times a year. Why they do that? There is no income tax in Wyoming, so they do not pay any income tax. Owning a property in WY and put that as primary residence actually save them income tax, so owning a property in WY saves them so much money. That’s the biggest reason.

I have skied Jackson hole. It has some great slopes and incredible powder. When I skied there, during a Winter Carnival week at college, you used to be able to ski right up to the chair lift lines (no lines or only 2-3 people deep). Yet many people still paid extra to take the tram to the top of Rendezvous Bowl (the top of the mountain). It was at least 4000ft+ of vertical drop from the top. Some people would track their vertical feet total for the day.

I live in Teton County. Great place if you like winter. The wealthy want to live here because Wyoming has no State income tax, is tax friendly in general, and there is a lack of "diversity", and the consequent crime and social strife. Wealthy people can live anywhere. All they need is a tiny condo in one of seven states in the US with 0% state income tax and they can claim it as their "primary" residence to get the tax benefits. They own homes all over the country/world. Reason a massive influx pushed into Jackson is because WY is a beautiful place. Ironically once the wealthy international jetsetters started moving in prices started to skyrocket. Give it a few more years and it'll be overrun, then they'll find a new place to ruin :(

If you're looking for "peaceful connection with nature", and lower population, Jackson isn't the place, at least during the warmer months. Sure, if you're wealthy and own a ranch/home up on a secluded hill in the area, it's nice. During the summer months, however, Jackson is so crowded with visitors travelling two/from 2 major national parks... You can barely drive through town. There's one main road through town, and one road north, and you're sharing it with millions of travelers. Another consideration: Jackson is an economic "bubble": everything costs more, and any type of vocational service is difficult to get, because when the place thaws out from winter, everybody needs services at the same time. (We work in the area during the summer months, and have for the last 7 years.) A one bedroom apt without laundry hookups, is over $1200 dollars a month or more.

I grew up there late 60s early 70s. Sno King was right out my front window. The Elk refuge was out the back door and across the road. My first job was at a little dude ranch called the trading post. I was 8. I took tourist up in the mountains and had a blast. And got paid $1 for one hour ride$2 for two hours. $5 for the chuck wagon steak ride every Friday all summer. The guy that owned it looked like Hoss Cartwright from bonanza. Huge dude. And fished cutthroat creek every chance we had. Then it really was a paradise. Hardly anyone. Just a small tourist town. Then the news followed Jimmy Carter there for a winter vacation. And then the rest of America discovered Jackson Hole. My childhood paradise. A place I still dream of. Peace.

YES THAT IS THE SOLUTION TO ALL KINDS OF PROBLEMS CAUSED BY THE RICH ALL OVER AMERICA. BUT THE REASON IT DOESNT HAPPEN ANYWHERE, IS BECAUSE THEN THE RICH WOULD NO LONGER BE RICH. THE RICH ALL LIKE TO THINK THEY ARE SUPERIOR TO EVERYONE ELSE, THEY ENJOY THE MONEY, POWER, CONTROL, PRIVILEGE AND SERVICE! THIS IS WHY THERE SHOULD BE NO MORE SOCIAL CLASS! YOU WORK? YOU EARN WHATEVER YOU WORK FOR! AND YOU KEEP IT TOO. INSTEAD OF THE GOVERNMENTS SCREWING EVERYONE AND TAKING THEIR MONEY FROM THEM ( BY ORDER OF THE RICH ) THE RICH HAVE LOOPHOLES AND TAX SHELTERS THAT THE POOR DO NOT HAVE! ITS A FIXED GAME BECAUSE THERE ARE SO MANY PEOPLE WITH POLICY MAKING GOVERNMENTS THAT HAVE BEEN BOUGHT, AND ARE CORRUPTED, SO THEY ARE NOT GOING TO DO WHAT THEY SHOULD BE DOING TO STOP THE RICH FROM GETTING AWAY WITH ALL OF THEIR SHIT! I SAY THE ONLY OTHER SOLUTION IS FOR EVERYONE WHO IS NOT RICH? BE WILLING TO SACRIFICE MOST MATERIAL THINGS AND REFUSE TO BUY PRODUCTS AND PAY HIGH RENTS TO THE RICH! THIS WILL STOP THE RICH FROM MAKING MONEY! AND LETS SEE HOW THEY ALL LIKE THAT!
