First off, you have no idea what you have. The material in that filter is not foam, it's gauze. Secondly, in order to make that filter work you need to put some of K&N's oil on it, that is what makes the dirt stick to the filter. Thirdly you cannot just wash that filter. You need to buy K&N's filter wash. If you was it with regular soap you will ruin the filter. This is not just my opinion, it's the opinion of David Vizard who has building engines since before you were born. The third thing is you do not want to over oil that filter, it may cause the mass air meter in your car to become contaminated. If you are going to put information on the Internet pleas make sure it is correct and COMPLETE!
