Rent the machines to an employee there for 200 a month and they are responsible to fill them. OR Also you could call ahead for a machine count of each row and item. This gives you an opportunity to know what are big sellers!!! Give that employee a free pop for their time so you are not blindly shopping. Just because you have a business does not mean you are business smart. My f...ing boss never filled our pop machine. If he did he would have made tons more money. It was supposed to be for his kid. One thing is that you should max out the sodas you sell the most of. So if coke is sold out. Fill that third slot with coke.

The guy who owns the vending machines at the hotel I work at does that with the Sunchips and it irritates me to no end. I love the Cheddar and Original flavors, but he puts that nasty red pepper flavor that no one likes in between so I have to wait for that one to go away which can take days.

Seems like a pretty simple business model, correct me if I’m wrong Claw Kicker. Each individual machine (food and beverage vending, stuffed animals, coin pushers etc.) doesn’t make very much money, therefore you must own and operate a lot of arcades/machines to make a good living.

Two things I see right off the bat that is costing you money is the fact that you have empty spaces in your machine, and you are not tracking the movement of your inventory. Tracking inventory is simple. Count how much product you start out with, then track how much you sold. You now know how much product you need to buy without over spending and should usually keep you from running out of product.

Man if you on the ones where I work at GM and you only came in once a week so that everything was always sold out like that, and you're constantly stacking different things on top of each other so we didn't have like one row of the same thing because I literally saw you put like five different chips in the same room, you'd have a lot of pissed off Auto Workers. When we come in for our breaks and we're sweating and miserable and there's no pop in the pop machine all hell would break loose. That's a really crummy thing to do if you want to move over to vending machines you got to keep those things taken care of because the people that work there deserve better than to have someone let things go so there's only about 10 bottles of pop because when you open up that pot machine that look like all that was left you can't just let things go until there's nothing left in there! People buy up a certain product for a reason and they're not going to settle for just buying what's left and if you pull that stunt enough time they're not going to buy from you anymore. I know I would get sick and tired of it and I'd start going to the grocery store and buying my own thing for half that price!

It's worth it if you cluster the machines you have. Meaning build up the are you have them in by finding more locations in that area that you can put vending machines in.

I've had experience of filling a vending machine with sweets and potato chips before! It was when I was at secondary school and we did it for a job. We used to get the spare chocolate bars as a reward and a pound coin for doing the job of filling it. Had great fun!

There is absolutely no way you're spending $1+ on each pop bottle... you can get a 12 pack for $5.. and 6 packs of Dr Pepper, etc for less than $2.95. The profit margin should be much higher

my opinion instead of just putting random chips and candy Stick to the staples of junk food and you will make more cash. Also some one posted about putting a credit card reader in the machine that would help as well and would let you know when some items run out, This way you know hey i need to run to the machines more then once a week. Also you should be taking a pickup or larger vehicle to your vending runs. Why you ask? for the simple purpose of you can even if you dont need it in your machine then be able to pick up the exact amount to fill your machines FULL each time you go. Even if you don't need it all you will have it. As the old saying goes " It is better to have and not need then need and not have." this way your not having to make multiple trips just to fill your machines. Also try putting a Email me here Link posted on your machines in-case there is an issue with a machine OR for suggestions for products. In Chips : Doritos, Fritos, Cheetos, regular and bbq lays. In Candy bars : Snickers, Twix, Milky way, Baby Ruth, Payday, Butterfinger, 100 grands, 3 musketeers, Reese's peanutbutter cups, kitkat. Non Candy Bar candy : M&Ms Regular and Peanut, Starburst, Different gums (orbit, eclips etc), bags of gummies (gummie bears /worms) Skittles. Cookies: Oreos snack packs...Nutterbutters, Famous Amos, Granama's , Chips ahoy. and the Dounets donuts packages (both powdered and chocolate) For Soda : Coke/Pepsi (both diet and regular..... Dr Pepper, Mountain Dew, Sprite, Water, Fanta or rootbeer.

Update your tech broski, you need to install a card reader onto your machines, that'll increase your profits by at least 25-30%. Also, move your machines closer to you and that'll cut down major on the 4hr car beating you're taking. The vending business is sweet passive income if you work it right. Want to know where your going wrong. ? 1) maybe fill your machine to the brim. And you’d only have to go there once every 3 weeks. 2) why are you paying $1 per bottle ? I’m paying $0.49 each. Stop going to a shop and fine a better wholesaler. 3) up your price to $2 a bottle and instal credit card readers on your machines.

Suggestion: If you're paying $1 per bottle for pop you're paying too much. 8-pack of bottled Mountain Dew is rarely more than $4-$5. If you're doing enough volume, I'd also suggest approaching a Pepsi/Lays vendor directly instead of buying retail. You might have to put up a bit more cash up-front and store some excess product for awhile, but I bet you could get your cost per unit way down.

Totally not worth it for the drink and soda vending machines. I went to IAPAA last year and checked out some of the claw machines that they had and they really made me laugh saying you can make $5 a day lol. If you haven’t been to IAPAA then I would suggest for you to go. It is awesome!!

Maybe it won't cost that much if you didn't take a GTR to the location. A Prius or hybrid will give you better gas mileage so that 60 dollars will only cost 10 dollars and that monthly car payments will be decreased substantially.

Bad advice for children. You picked locations far from your base of operations. You aren't buying candy in bulk. Most vending machines in high traffic areas can command premiums for products, and combining that with bulk buying power, that profit margin could have been 100%. But you don't even organize your product in a way thats good for the customer. Just easy for you. Most people hate randomized food products in machines. But it's easy, and the videos are lucrative. Many people achieve success in vending. You did not because your business plan was an afterthought. Don't tell kids to not try something because you failed at it. Vending companies in metropolitan areas are multimillion dollar businesses. Many started with a few locations.
