I'm a big fan of max but I do feel that Topuria is just gonna be too much for him. Max in his last couple fights has focused less on volume and forward pressure and has choose his shots more and focused on power and controling distance. I think its a lot closer than your playing it out to be, I think with Max's movement Ilia is getting Max in the pocket maybe three or four times. I think its very close unless Illia decides to grapple then Max is cooked.

Let's be real volk would've finished shrimp tempura by R4. Tempura was already gassing out. Plus when has volk ever KO'd anyone? Tempura had no fear of being KOd. Styles makes fights. Volk vs max both technical fighters = bad match up. Ilia vs max brawler vs technical good match up. Max wins in deep waters. Shrimp tempura only has 2 rounds to KO max. Simple. Max can give illia R1 then win R2 illia would be gassed by R4-R5 but max can't get damaged early otherwise he'll be compromised by late rounds. If Ilia wins R1-R2 and max is highly damaged. It's gonna be hard win. If I was Max let shrimp win R1 and R3 with minimal damage taken. Then finish on R5 or win UD.

Will be honest I disagree with this. MMA math doesn't add up that way and even if a fighter is slightly similar the fights tend to not always go that way. What is no secret that Max is intending to carry some of that weight down to that weight class and also his team is putting together strategies to stifle his opponent which most likely will get the job done.

I dont think holloway does well on the backfoot against elite fighters, gaethje was not pressuring him, he was staying static in the center of the octagon letting holloway snowball on him, at kickboxing distance, and thats where holloway does best because he can have his crazy volume, just like kattar and ortega, but every time he gets beat is because he gets pressured, mcgregor dustin and volk 1st and 3rd fight, i think this is a way different match up than gaethje, ilia is a pressure fighter, but i agree though, max path of winning is body kicks that push ilia away and zap his cardio at the same time, but i think ilia will be ready for that considering how well he prepared for volk, i think topuria by ko considering that max wont have the threat of the ko that emmet had or the threat of the takedown that volk had, meaning he will be able to stay in max face and piece him up

Something nobody brings up is the ranking of opponents Holloway has been in the octogon with. Max is 32ish years old and been fighting a very high level for a long time. Watch his first fight against Jose Aldo. How many GOATS has max fought? It would be foolish to think its a one dimension fight come october 26th. In the BMF fight with Justin, Max pulls off a backwards kick that breaks Justin's nose at the end of the first round. It was so random. Max continues to retool between fights. He knows there is too much tape of him out there. Has Topuria ever been taken into the deep water of championship rounds? Illia knows this and went on Areil Herwani's show to plead his case for Max and Illia to brawl in the center of the ring, Illia absolutely doesn't want to go into the 4th and 5th rounds with max. Outside of Volkanovski, Illia doesn't have any fights with high level fighters. In retrospect, Volk may never matchup well with topuria but maybe Holloway has illia's number. matchups make the fight. JUst because Volk beats holloway and illia beat Volk, doesn't mean Topuria goes throught holloway. Now everyone knows to keep their distance in the early rounds with topuria now. Close fight.
